My experiences at Michaels Arts & Crafts have steadily devolved from disappointing to down right insulting. I have shopped there for several years. In the beginning, I enjoyed purchasing my cake decorating supplies and thought their selection for most other items was decent. In the past several months, however, customer service took a serious nosedive. Example: I am getting married in October, and being very budget conscious, I decided to go the DIY route and produce my own stationary. When I went to Michaels with my fiance to purchase card stock and supplies, there were no sales associates to be found. When we did find one, we asked for a certain product and the woman brushed us off saying they surely did not carry it. I was skeptical, so I asked another employee, and she pointed us to the product. Theyre also coupon Nazis. They encourage you to sign up for coupons and newsletters online, and then they refuse to honor any coupon code if it is not printed out. Perhaps I was mistaken, but doesnt that defeat the whole purpose of going green? The girl at the register apologized profusely when I presented my iPhone with the coupon code on the screen, saying she had accepted a coupon via a phone and was almost fired for it. Talking to two of the employees there, its pretty clear management is tyrannical. Overall, I never leave Michaels in a good mood. Most of the employees are rude and cant be bothered to help. After my last experience, I will not continue to patronize Michaels.

I went into Michaels yesterday (1/18/17) for the first time in several years, probably 5 or 6 at least. The store is large and bright, with several pre-made craft items on display at the entrance. I assume these are for inspiration or ideas, as well as for sale because they all had price tags on them - and they were not cheap!! I went there looking for one item only - 3/4" round, peel & stick magnets. However, I had some time on my hands so I decided to walk around and see what Ive been missing. Theres a large selection of craft supplies to choose from, as well as craft storage, home decor, gift items, decorative storage boxes/baskets, wedding supplies, picture frames and more! Prices were pretty much what you would expect, especially because they tend to have a lot of items/categories on sale for 40% or more off. The one item I went there for, they didnt have. They had magnetic circles, but they were the heavy ceramic type. Something that I was told that could be found at a craft supply store "such as Michaels or AC Moore" was not found. One more thing to add - I only saw one store employee while shopping and she whizzed by me without a "hello" or "can I help you find anything?"

I like Michaels for having what I want and need, but its the checkout lines I am beginning to struggle with. Always always always it takes a super long time just to check out. Suck it up Michaels.... hire another full time cashier!!!!! I am so disappointed, I am reducing my 2 star rating to a 1 star

The set up is a little confusing. It always takes me forever to find what im looking for & they dont have that many employees to ask for help. They are always super nice though.

Not bad for a craft store. Suffers from the same issues that all of these sorts of stores to, and that is not really knowing what it is that they sell.

Newly renovated checkouts work a lot better with lines, it looks good too. I had a question about something ND saw no employees on the sales floor

They always have little craft projects for the kids on the weekends and the staff who run them are always friendly and patient with the kids

Always find just what I need. And the check out staff had a coupon for an additional $5. Off which made my day! Thank you

Its a Michaels store. It has all the items. Accepts all coupons. Wish they had more people on register sometimes.

Always find something I need here! Only things that stinks about Michaels is that you cant use multiple coupons.
