The Maplehofe Dairy Farm Store is like stepping back in time to the 1940s. While the store has refrigeration and air conditioning all other aspects are as they were in the wonderful past. Milk in glass jugs, butter in balk, the best hand dipped ice cream on the planet, local in season produce and baking needs in balk. The baking items are the most interesting. Slabs of both dark and white chocolate plus several kinds of flour. I like to get the cake flour there which is low in gluten and therefore makes for a very light textured cake. While you can get this kind of flour in a regular super market, the price is double that of ordinary flour. But not at Maplehofe, it is the same price as ordinary flour. Maplehofe also stocks an unusual number of pancake, waffle, and funnel cake mixes along with a large variety of flavorings. This time I even found special powder mixes for making vanilla and chocolate ice creams. There is also a limited amount of cold cut meats and frozen locally grown beef. There is also a nice collection of locally made lawn furniture on the porch which is sold by Maplehofe. Dont know how much of it is sold but is does get used frequently. From spring to fall the thing to do on a summer evening is to get an ice cream cone and then eat it while sitting on the porch. The single dip is easily the equal to many others double dips. The price for two single dip cones is about $5. They also have hand made waffle cones for an extra 75 cents. In all it is an interesting store which is very reminiscent of the neighborhood grocery story of my youth.

We visted here while we were on vacation at Yogi Bear and as soon as we walked in the door you will be in heaven. There was a delicious smell when we walked in so we had to ask what was being made and it was waffle cones smelled so good. But they have all fresh produce and great prices, they had milk in glass bottles, they had orange milk, mint milk, blueberry milk. My first trip I bought tomatoes and they were so juicy and ripe best tomatoe sandwich I have had in a while. And of course because of the smell of the waffle cones we had to come back so we went the next day for their ice cream to die for a lot of flavors to choose from, I got their milk shake the mint cholocote and wow was It great, my husband got the waffle cone and it was as good as it smelled and the kids got cotton candy ice cream so good. As I was walking out on the shelf they had a big bag of the little marshmallows that come in lucky charms for only $2.10 I was in heaven. Definitely worth the stop trust me

My children and I always look forward to our trip to Maplehofes! Cold, fresh and very reasonably priced milk, still fair egg prices, amazing ice cream, and a new playground!! Also, if you are a cake decorator, chocolate maker or a confection connoisseur, this place has an impressive collection! The craziest pinatas, too!! We also make sure to pick up a basket of sweet potatoes almost monthly (my kids have one several times a week with lunch!), and I sneak a chocolate whoopie pie or two in my cart before checking out. Sorry kids, those are for mommy and daddy! Dont worry, they have ice cream!

I was born and raised in Quarryville, PA. I have since moved to SC. When I return home to Quarryville, Maplehofe is one of my first stops. The chocolate milk is the best... period, no other chocolate milk compares. The store is a genuine unique Southern Lancaster County experience. The ice cream is top notch, not to mention all of the little goodies you can find in the store. Middleswarth chips are a sweet nugget of goodness you can find at maplehofe. Great place and totally worth the visit. If you find yourself on 222 heading south through Quarryville, do yourself a favor and STOP IN!!

STAY AWAY this is MY perfect ice cream and other goodies store! Inexpensive ice cream, a billion flavors, local produce and the like. Walk out the door and see the actual cows that contributed the milk to the ice cream (maybe). Its not in a strip mall, but set in actual corn fields and pastures just south of the fine town of Quarryville. Youll regret visiting because you will be distracted thenceforward every day by thoughts of skipping work and driving out to get ice cream in the countryside.

Hands down the best place to get ice cream in Lancaster. No matter what you get here, you can rest assured that it will taste great. Although their systems may be outdated, the friendliness of the staff and the quality of their homemade food will make you forget about it. Every time I come back home from school, I make it a point to stop here!

The little store has everything! I love the bulk food items, great selection! The milk in glass bottles is amazingly fresh and the glass keeps it good and cold! The ice cream cant be beat either, served in a nice homemade waffle cone! It doesnt get any better than this!

Im not sure how we found this store but it is amazing. We have only went for the ice cream, but that alone is worth the visit. Outside of that they have other grocery items for whatever your needs may be. Staff has always been friendly and we stop whenever we are in PA.

Old time dairy store. They sell milk in half-gallon glass bottles, pints of milk and asst. drinks, cheese, baked goods. Also mixes, candy, dried fruits, spices in the bulk foods section, produce, and a dairy bar for ice cream and snacks and frozen food.

Best Ice Cream and best milk in Lancaster County. Hands down no contest. Store is set up a bit crowded so it can be kind of hard to get by if there is a rush on the ice cream counter. Which during the summer you can bet on it.

A required stop each time we camp at Yogi Bear Quarryville. Ice Cream is great and they have bagged old fashioned candy. The flavored milk is really good also. The entire family enjoys Maplehofe Dairy Farm.

Love the ice cream and It is a frequent stop for milk as the price is better than other stores. Friendly service. Think it could be a little cleaner, but the ice cream is well worth the visit.

This store sells their own dairy products. It is a favorite place for ice cream. You can sit in front of the store, relax, and enjoy your ice cream. Then go back in to purchase amish goods.

My wife and I live 25 minutes away, but its worth the drive for the Ice Cream alone. Cheapest prices around, but the best flavor by far. Go check it out!
