STAY AWAY! If I could have chosen less than one star for the rating, I would have. This guy is a SLEEZE! First of all, my husband and I found him in the paper-advertising discounted mattresses. We were moving out of town and needed the mattress by a certain time. We made the sales associate (and OWNER I MUST ADD) fully aware of when we needed the mattress. We paid upfront with our credit card and bought a coffee table and end table set as well. The owner had warned that if the order wasnt in by the following week, dont panic, itd be in a few days afterward. I called the following week as I hadnt heard from him and wanted to see how things were going. I left a message. Never recieved a call back. I waited a week and called again. AGAIN NO ANSWER, I left a message but didnt get called back. I called the very next day and on the voicemail recording threatened that if I hadnt heard from the owner, I was going to stop into the store. The following day I stopped into the store on Campbells Run Road and the owner seemed surprised and embarrassed to see me there saying he was "just about to call" YEA RIGHT! I told him that my husband and I were leaving on Sunday for our new residence out of state and where was our mattress he was so sure would have been in LAST WEEK? The owner explained it was on its way and it would be here next week (too late, were leaving). I told him I wanted to return it and get our money back as that was not going to work. He told my husband and I hes hurt his hand (he had a fake brace on it) and that was the reason why he hasnt called, that hes been so busy BLA BLA BLA. Then he said to give him our new address and he would write us a check and mail it to us?! I was in the freaking store with the credit card I used! When I told him that wasnt going to happen he said to maybe stop in Friday or Saturday and he could refund my money then because his credit card machine was broken? I called this guy on Saturday to coordinate a time to meet, he dodged my phone call. I then went to desperate measures and called from my parents phone. What do you know... he answered! When I explained who I was and why I was calling, he seemed surprised I answered. I told him to stay at his shop and Id be in to get my refund, he explained he wasnt at his shop. I asked him how he could answer his business phone but not be at his shop? He said he was out on a delivery and his cellphone gets the forwarding calls. Guess his hand wasnt hurt anymore? Then, what do you know, his phone "cuts out" and hangs up just as Im asking when we can meet up at the shop. I attempted to call back, and it goes to voicemail! I left a message saying I was driving to his shop and waiting for him there. Long story short, my parents were upset that we were in the process of getting scammed by this jerk, so my mother called from her cellphone and he answered! She used a few choice words explaining to this business owner that he will give her daughter and son-in-law their money back. And this turd starts whining to my mom that he had car troubles this morning and broke down and thats why he couldnt get to the shop to pay us back??! Long story short, I got my money back. Just an FYI, the car this dude drives is a company Ford F150. Looks like a newer model, probably a 2010 or 2011. Car troubles? I dont think so. Total BOGUS company, please save your time and invest in furniture/mattresses somewhere else. This dude is totally SHADY. And by the comments written below, looks like others feel the same. OH--By the way, the coffee table and side tables were SCRATCHED and KNICKED up once we got them to our new home. My husband and I decided not even to bother meddling with this winner to try and get a better set/money back. You have been warned!

My husband and I purchased a bedroom set for our son for $1,800 this past Friday, July 3rd. When we got it home, the corner of the foot-board was dented. I called 1st thing Monday morning because they were closed over the holiday weekend-no answer or return call. I didnt speak with him until my 4th phone call on Wednesday and he told me he would not do anything for me! I was speechless, disappointed and mad. During our phone conversation, he was completely unprofessional, unwilling to work with me, had a negative attitude, raised his voice and argued with me the whole time on the phone. He could care less that I was a customer and told me NO from the beginning without even trying to make things right. He wouldnt call the manufacturer to replace the foot board and long story short; he told me the furniture was inspected, all sales were final and it probably happened when we brought it home! Then he said, "GOODBYE!" and he HUNG UP ON ME! So now I have a damaged piece of furniture that he will NOT replace or fix. If you choose to purchase anything from this company, make sure you spend a ridiculous amount of time inspecting every little last 1/4 of an inch on your piece before paying for it and bringing it home. Otherwise you will get screwed just like us! He was awful to work with and I would never recommend this "company" to anyone nor will I ever purchase something here again! Well- We had another conversation this afternoon and he decided to give me a new foot board tomorrow morning. Ill post a response as to how it all goes down. HOWEVER, The phone conversation was yet again unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate; he questioned my integrity, blamed me for the defect... but all I wanted was a new foot-board and hopefully thats what we get tomorrow am. : ) When we arrived to get our foot board, the one he was going to give us was in even WORSE condition than mine full of dents and scratches. This man is truly unbelievable!!! We had him put in writing that he will order us a new foot board and call when it arrives. It is now August 30-NO NEW FOOTBOARD. He will not return our phone calls or handle this situation. This is a very sketchy company with an unprofessional owner that probably does everything "under the table". I would NEVER recommend "The Furniture Guy" to anyone-what a HORRIBLE experience from beginning to end. I will be reporting this to the BBB-they keep stories like this on file and check in on the company if too many complaints come in. He should not own a business: WOW. Yes, its true: people like this are out there running businesses like this!

Shady owner... We recently updated to a King mattress size and ordered our foam mattress online. That said I needed a boxspring and frame and looked locally. The quality of the boxspring / frame was fine from their store, actually very happy with the frame. What I wasn’t happy with was the service. I found them though Craigslist where they had mattress and boxspring prices listed, I called and negotiated a price with a younger employee, my out the door CASH price. Once I arrived I was “greeted” by someone else that had no idea of the previous conversation, when the young employee told him the price he balked until I said your employee said that was the price and I didn’t drive 20 minutes here to here else. He went back to the office and then came back to agree. I laid my cash out and he said what about sales tax and in reply I said that was included in the cash, he said no it wasn’t and I repeatedly said that’s what I had negotiated on the phone. He balked and annoyed I decided to pay the tax on top of the price but not before he added that I shouldn’t complain to him (the owner!) but rather to the employee…. Are you kidding me? You’re the boss, own up to any employee’s mistakes. Thank fully a bospring isn’t that complicated and as I said the metal frame is nice. I would still never buy here again even for the same price if I didn’t have a mattress/bedspread/and 7 month pregnant wife waiting happily for me at home.
