You know how it goes. You see a picture of a pair of boots. You decide you MUST own them. You hunt them down with the precision of a barn owl. But then you learn that they are completely sold out in all of New York City! Such was my experience when I saw a pair of Fiorentini Baker shoes and started fantasizing about my future life with the them: the streets wed walk, the stones wed kick... My little heart broke when I discovered that the only three shops that carry Fiorentini Baker in NYC were completely sold out. By the time I called Head Start, I felt defeated. But ... not only did they have them in stock, George and his wife Michelle made certain they were sending me the right size, and offered to exchange them if they were a wrong fit. It was such a pleasant experience. I would definitely buy from them again.

Bought a pair of $425.00 Le Pera boots from Head Start Shoes. After wearing the boot for an hour a button on the boot popped off. Called Head Start and spoke to the store manager, George. All George was willing to do was replace the button and charge me for the replacement of the button. He said he is NOT responsible for the products he sale in his store and I must have done something wrong to cause the button to come off the boot...now George has a non-returning customer. What kind of service is that???

I have been mostly pleased w "Head Start" and have been buying my shoes there for the past 14 yrs or so. However "George" sold me a pair of Fiorentini & Baker boots which are too small......he said they run one whole size large ....and in fact they run 1/2 size larger. No matter they only had in stock one half size smaller than I wear. I like feel he wasnt straight-up with me and just wanted to make the sale.....$525.00 and boots that dont fit!
