OPTOMETRIST; I dread making appointments for doctors, so I ended up just walking here and asking for one and they were able to accommodate me even that day if I wanted to. The appointments are 40 min, so if you live/work nearby, this is a great place to come since theyre flexible. Dr. Ward is a young dude (easy on the eyes..hehe no pun intended) and the receptionist/techs were really nice and quick. The office isnt anything fancy, but whatevs. UPSTAIRS STORE; The people are usually older and so sweet. Theyve fixed my sunglasses for me (tighten/clean) and my regular glasses many times quick and easy and for free. Theyre a little slow trying to get you an actual quote for your glasses, but I understand they need to check your insurance, and do a buncha things. I ended up getting a great deal since they were running a 50% off promo for mothers day. The selection isnt greaaat Id say (not a ton of designer brands). But I found that good in a sense because I just picked one up that I liked and went with it. But if youre looking for more style, more selection, this isnt your place. They also could reallyy use a interior decorator to umf this place. That 50% promo sign was made in black and white on Word with cartoon flowers lOLLL, the old ladies who work there prob made it and didnt know how to make it look nice. The carpet is old, you feel like youre in the 60s when youre in there.. again whatevs, just a comment.

I went in while they were closing, which was something I did not know. Why would a business close at 5:30 when most people have 9-5 jobs. As a result, the man in charge getting people set up was incredibly rude to me. He asked if I knew they were closing in 2 minutes. Of course I did not. Then he looked at his watch and said, "Well, actually we are closed now," in an incredibly rude tone. He added, "You can come back another night." My response was, "No, today is my day to get this done. I will not come back later." Then left- he followed me to the door right on my heels, locking it immediately. It was a gross experience. Yes, I look young, but I am still a paying customer, why else would I walk in with my prescription? Whatever. I would not go back here ever again.

You couldnt ask for better service. Been looking for a particular style of frame for the last two months with no luck, because every place I go to has the same exact styles as every where else. Well, not only did Hour Glass Optical have the best selection Ive seen in LA, they also had the best service. Stumped by now having too many options, Veronica and Kathy swooped in and provided the courtesy and advice I needed without being overbearing in any way. Finally after 2 months I can finally stop looking, because I now have a pair that I couldnt be happier with. Great service, great selection, and great prices. If you need eye wear then this is your place.

I ran into this office in a pinch for a new contact prescription. Instead of treating me with contempt for asking for an on the spot appointment, the staff in the doctors office kindly began working with me even though it was almost close to closing time. The office staff was professional, the man who did my preliminary exam was efficient and explained each step to me, and the doctor herself was kind and thorough. I would highly recommend this office.

Don 2/23/2012 Went in for and eye exam and to purchases glasses. Was my fist time in an optical store. Staff was courteous and very eager to make sure the glasses were perfect.

They have a better frame selection for better prices. But they are very slick and their lab is not local, and makes mistakes.

The protection plan doesnt cover lost or stolen glasses, so dont waist your time or money and go some where else.
