i regularly purchase online and have shipping by places like this and i am disappointed in the results from this one. First off, my receipt shows $48 in actual shipping fee (in line with what I would expect). Then theres an additional $36 in service options. I would assume that was pickup, packing, etc. then additional handling of $16. another $15 for one box, $5 random charge, another $15 pickup fee for a location the regularly go to and said they made no special trip to. So, theres $87.00 to pack up one guitar with case. I would call that extremely steep but my greater issue was the quality of it. The case (which was a vintage case worth around $500 had absolutely nothing to protect it. Just case and box. The bass (which was the only one like it in the world and worth a hell of a lot more than the case) had some bubble wrap and was tight in the case. Had i paid for something cheap i would be a lot more forgiving but i paid for premium service and got a very shoddy result. Ask for your charges to be broken down here before handing your card over. On top of that, my original quote was about $50 more on top of that until i questioned it.

I cant say they werent efficient, but the young person (I have to say person, honestly not sure if it was a young lady or man), did not address me, did not make eye contact, did not take even a second break from his/her personal conversation with his/her coworker about band practice. I set my box down (preprinted label) he/she scanned it and handed me a receipt all without managing to utter a word to me. Extremely disappointing customer service, but he/she did get the job done. I brought in a second box from my car and had an instant replay of the first experience. For my first interacton with the UPS Store, Im far from impressed.

Ive had a variety of life events this past year that have required the need of a notary, next day delivery of time sensitive documents, sending out care packages, etc.,all the while trying to find time to do these things in the midst of my busy work schedule. The Hatfield UPS store has been my go-to place for ALL of these matters. Everyone there has been friendly, informative, and helpful and they have hours that should be able to accommodate most busy schedules. They have been a stress-reducer in a stressful year.
