Got a tattoo by Christopher Ruppert. He was very unprofessional, rude, works extremely slow (they charge you by the hour) takes a million breaks, drinks alcohol while tattooing you (completely NOT OK) and offers his clients alcohol as well as prescription painkillers (vicodin, oxycontin are the ones I have heard of so far). I am very disappointed as the work was good, but the ethic was incorrigible. I was jealous of the people that got to see the other artists because they seemed awesome and more professional than this douchebag. I only wished I had gone to someone else, then I would have had a better experience. No shame on the shop; everyone else seems great. Ruppert deserves to lose his job and license. In my 15 + years of being tattooed I have never, ever seen or known it to be okay for an artist to encourage his clients to be under the influence of anything or to consume alcohol himself while working. I know its Portland, but its still not okay to drink on the job. I would recommend this shop, however go to anyone else but Christopher Ruppert.

This is the best place to go to get a tattoo. I just finished my third session (on my very first tattoo!!!) with Matt Reed, and I couldnt have had a better experience. I always thought it was job requirement to be a pompous prick to be a tattoo artist, but not here. Matt and the staff have been incredibly sincere and welcoming. They answered all my question, and provided me with support when I would call in with anxiety about the my tattoo. Matt has a very creative mind and brought to life a beautiful piece of art work on my back. He is very laid back and talked me through the whole process of what he was going to do and what I could expect after . He made me feel so comfortable and I trusted him with all creative control. I cant wait to go back and get my second one...after this one heals of course!

I could go on and on about Maryon. I had an ugly butterfly (dickerfly) middle of my back and some red mess on my shoulder that she covered up with beautiful flowers. Her attention for detail is flawless! It was about a 7 hour tattoo and I was ready to give up at 6 but she helped me keep going. She seemed like not much of a talker but she talked to me and offered to play me music that I would enjoy to keep me going. So happy she did because the finished product is so beautiful! I didnt feel comfortable taking my shirt off with what I had. Now I want to show it off to the world. I definitely will be going back for some more work by her. Also pricing is very reasonable. TigerLily Tattoo is THE BEST, I LOVE my new tattoo!! Mary-Kate and Greg both made me feel so comfortable and so welcome. Obviously I wanted a good artist, which they have in SPADES (I got mine from Greg and he is SUPER talented), but being new to Portland I really wanted to find the right shop with the right vibe and TigerLily NAILED it. They really made me feel that my experience and satisfaction were important, it wasn’t just another tattoo to them—it was MY tattoo. I can’t say enough good stuff about TigerLily, go check them out IMMEDIATELY! Plus their dog is ADORABLE :)

I have been working with Matt Reed for a few years. I started with the first one and now in two weeks I got for my 8th. He is a true artist. I go with my idea and he makes it 1000% better. I will be a life time customer. I get comments everyday when I am out on how gorgeous my tattoos are; even from people who have never liked tattoos. That is because they look so real and are true art. My hubby, his cousin and nephew are all customers of Matts. My daughter will be 18 next year and she is going to see him on her birthday, if possible, to get her first tattoo.

Greg and the staff at TigerLily Tattoo are amazing. The personal touch to the tattoo experience is unlike anywhere else in town. The wait might be long for an appointment, but thats just because everyone and their mom is trying to get in. Its more like a spiritual or religious experience than just getting a tattoo. If you are searching for a place in Portland to go, look no further. Even five stars doesnt seem like enough. I cannot recommend this place more. Treat yourself and book an appointment immediately.

I am in LOVE with my tattoo done by Greg at Tiger Lily! This was my first tattoo and a fairly large one. I had the best experience! Greg made me feel so comfortable and he seemed just as excited and stoked about my first tattoo as I was. The amount of effort and prep work put into the tattoo before the official date was impressive to say the least. My husband gets his tattoos done by Greg and many of my other friends only trust Tiger Lily for their work as well!

Fantastic shop and VERY CLEAN!! My Wife and I get our tattoos done by Greg, but you couldnt go wrong with anyone at Tiger Lily. All great artists and great people. Way more comfortable and all around better atmosphere there, than any other tattoo shop Ive ever been to. I will no longer be going anywhere else for my tattoo work. So If your looking for a tattoo shop? Stop looking! Just go see any of the artists at Tiger lily.

This shop is outstanding. I had a very specific tattoo in mind and was told by other shops that it couldnt be done... Greg Bassindale certainly proved them wrong! His interpretation of the artwork I brought in was absolutely awesome. Great work, clean comfortable shop, everyone friendly. Would recommend this shop to anyone looking.

Avalon did my tattoo, and i think she did a wonderful job, I was accompanied by a new friend i made in portland at my hostel for support. Alex was incredibly profession yet also very comfortable and friendly. (He also gave me great movie and music tips!) My tattoo looks amazing, has healed quickly, and his work is superb and unique! I am going back!
