i have shopped there a lot in the past few years and i have always left happy ! one example of how much i trust them.. about 2 years ago i was in the market for a lifted jeep, i found one at a dealership on 82nd it was a 97 ZJ 4.0 5speed with the np242 lifted 6 inches on 33 12.5s with "brand new lockers, engine ,trans, and tcase" for 5500 bucks~ not a bad deal i was excited. So i took it in on a somewhatly busy friday after noon and asked for an inspection on the suspension before i bought it so make sure the lift was done right since i didnt really know much about ZJs and was hearing a slight clunk on speed bumps during the test drive so after about 30 mins or so i saw the tech pull the jeep into the bay and about 15 mins later is when the fun started the call me up to the counter and ask how long have i been since i had changed fluids and done any maintenance on it i said i have no clue and it wasnt even mine and that i was thinking about buying it. The tech was shocked and he asked me to come out to the bay to look at some things ....so heres the list ALL of the fluids were black and burnt with flecks of copper from the syncros in the tranny. the rear end didnt have hardly any lube in it anymore because it was almost a paste the shocks were re welded in different locations and to top it all of every ball joint and bushing was shot in the end they said it prob wasnt safe to drive and offered a tow truck to get it back to the dealership i declined and made the dealer ship come pick it up from across the street lol i cant wait until i can get started saving money so i can have them do the lift on my WJ!!!

I came to the staff at 4Wheel parts for my 97 Wrangler. I sent them an email to get the ball rolling on what I was up against. Tom (manager) was the first person I talked to about my problems. I was looking to upgrade my axles and lift. Tom referred me to Austin(asst. Manager) for all my questions on the axles, since Austin had just worked through another customers wishes on new axles. Tom didnt beat around the bush and try and blow smoke. Tom knew that he had the proper person to answer my needs. Living 4 hours away, I had to put a lot of faith in the guys I was working with. Austin did an outstanding job with every question and concern I had. I knew I was going to be getting into some cash for this build. The build turned out to be more than was planned, but working with Austin made it a "cry once," and get the best the first time by doing it right. He could of sold me cheaper parts and have me come back in a few years for replacements and to spend more money, but Austins concern was making the customer know it was done right the first time. Austin was on point for customer service, he did what he said he was going to do, always getting back to me in a timely manner, and not beating around the bush to tell me what I wanted to hear. If it was or wasnt going to happen, he would let me know. Austin worked with all price points, to make it competitive and/or beat what was found on the web. This service experience makes the 4 hour drive worth my time. The whole staff at Portland (South Tabor) 4Wheel Parts exceeded my expectations. They will receive my business from here on out.

I rate this company 2 of 5 stars because I like ever other consumer I call around looking for best product with the best price and after misplacing my estimate on parts I called back 3 days later for the some list of parts and upon finding my original notes Id written I noticed they were a couple hundred dollars different. Later that week Id drove the hour distance to the store location Id called and walked in, talking to one of the salesmen I was again quoted a different price, this one better then the two prior. I wanted to order the parts they didnt have in stock the salesmen called the company to see how far out the parts would be, after waiting in the store for 30+ mins while he sat on hold. I finally decided to go home and let him call me with the time frame. I left all my contact information with the salesmen and he said he would let me know no later then the following day incase he had to contact them via email. That was 2 weeks ago and still no word back from him. As my Jeep sits in my garage waiting for parts. Most of there products they have in Stock on the shelf that I have looked for at other businesses I have been to find cheaper else where. I gave them 2 stars only because of the quality of products they do sell.

I feel you on the prices of this 4Wheelparts... I got a quote to have some gears done here on my 4x4. I was quoted $2500.00 more than I was at another 4Wheelpart ($3700.00)... and the 4Wheelpart that gave me the original quote was all the way in Hawaii... The Hawaii Shop has to pay for shipping... and Hawaiis cost of living is double that of Oregon... This place is a ripoff!!! To top it all off the guy at the counter could see the original quote that I got in Hawaii and decided to insult me after by telling that because I remembered what the Hawaii shop quoted me that he could do it for $1500.00... Which is still $300.00 over the cost of the original quote... Bottom line is that I did not get the gears done there because of that Jackass!!! Major rip off!!!! Make the drive to the Seattle Branch and save!!! They gave me my original quote, and threw in a few extras... Cheeeehoooo!!!

Ordered wheels and tires online 2 weeks before I was going to go on a trip because they were lower than the local stores. It was a huge mistake that I will never repeat. I ordered the parts and paid extra for rush to get them shipped out same day, but never got a email or phone call about shipping. When I checked on status I noticed only two tires and wheels had been processed, after calling I find out they do not have enough in stock to complete my order. I was told the tires should ship out in 1- 2 weeks after that time frame went by I now see they are estimated to ship out in 10 more days. This is information that should be noted on their website or they should inform the customer they have low stock on hand and may not be able to complete the order in a months time because I would have rather paid more and had the tires in a timely manor.

Faulty installation of an ARB front locker. They took two days longer than estimated, five full days, to do a regear and front locker install and were kind of rude about it. Fine as long as the work lasts, but the 5mm air line leading into the seal axle housing got torn apart by the splines, causing the locker to not engage. Clearly a faulty installation. Emailed and sent a picture and apparently they dont care. Tried dealing with another 4 wheel parts near where I now live and they were also unhelpful to the point I dont want any more of these "mechanics" working on my vehicle. Not the cheapest place to buy stuff and I very much regret letting them touch my vehicle. Definitely dont have them do anything complicated and dont expect them to stand behind their mistakes.
