First off, I have to say that Sweet Life is amazing, and their cakes are great. This review is of the wedding cake decorator. Q (her name). She knows she is good at what she does, and that seems to make her arrogant, which is a real turn off. Its only a matter of time before Eugene has many other bakeries that can do what she does, so she should learn to respect the customer a little more. We asked her to do a simple cake (the design was from a Matha Stewart Magazine) and only required her to apply templates to butter cream. She refused to do it that way, and said that she was gonig to pipe it all on herself. She said that would cost more, but we were willing to pay, because we thought it would be beautiful. So we ended up paying hundereds of dollars more, because it was going to now be a "complicated" cake. Come wedding day, she arrives, sets up and leaves before we see her at all. I go and look at the cake and notice that she did order the template sheets (very noticable since they didnt cover the whole cake, and there was a big blank line down the back of the cake). Q, if youre going to insist on being an "artist" and make things harder than what the customers request, you need to at least give them what they paid for! Its called having integrity (as a person, and a business). Overall: Great cake, bad customer service!

The scope of dessert offerings at Sweet Life is drool-inducing - and my family is SUPER impressed by the quality of all of the treats. Pies, cakes, quiche, cookies, bars, brownies, truffles, cupcakes, turnovers....from chocolate to fruit to caramel...everything was moist and tasty and distinctive. My sister and I are baked good Fanatics. When we get together we go nuts. For our party of 8 we spent about $200 on a huge variety of treats (my sister comes here often & is a freak for their offerings). For 3 days we sampled from this crazy stash. The Cherry Pie is to die for - tart with a crumbly topping. My husband hid extra pieces to eat at his leisure. The brownies each had such a great flavour: Black Bottom, Turtle, Plain. Each was so unique! Monkey Bread was inhaled at breakfast...I couldnt even get any. Bottom line: if you love baked goods - GO! This is the kind Sweet Life many of us would wish for when it comes to treats!! I cant wait to go back.

Go where the locals go! This is one of Eugenes best local dessert spots (along with Prince Pücklers Ice Cream.) The Chocolate Orgasm cake, a dense concoction of dark chocolate and blood orange, is consistently amazing. Other stand-out regular items are the Tiramisu cake, the chocolate peanut butter cake, and the chocolate mint cake. The lemon bars and key lime tartlets are perfect. Sweet Lifes buttercream frosting is the real deal: smooth, dense, incredibly creamy in any flavor. For special occasions, order the cake you love most, or create your own. We get a gluten free cake each year for my sisters birthday and it is always superb. My daughters favorite for her birthday is the French vanilla cake, filled with chocolate ganache, strawberry purée, and iced with French vanilla buttercream. Theres no way to go wrong at Sweet Life. Eugene is lucky to have this touch of sweetness to satisfy our cravings. Especially since they stay open til 11!

My experience with Sweet Life was one of the best. I do not live in Eugene so I had to do everything via the website and by calling Sweet Life directly. All of my contacts with Sweet Life personnel were extremely positive, and they definitely seemed interested in making sure that I got what I was ordering. The occasion for my cake order was my sisters 70th birthday, and my sisters and I wanted to make it special. Well, special it was. The cake turned out beautifully and was just what I wanted. In fact, the staff went the extra mile and took a picture of it and texted it to me before it was delivered. That is service! And it was delivered right on time thanks also to Pony Express. My sister had a wonderful 70th birthday, and the cake was part of it. She shared it with all of her friends. Thanks, Sweet Life, for making my sisters 70th birthday a memorable occasion and one that she will not forget soon.

had a craving for a savory croissant wanted ham and cheese saw they had a turkey and cheese. was staying overnight so that was going to be my dinner and picked up a little dessert a pastry cup with a custard in it forgot the name wish I could forget both . the croissant was tasteless most even an afternoon old still are buttery and flaky this was not threw half away the cheese or what ever it was gave it a weird taste so I opened it up as most meat and cheese ones have slices this had a count 4 little cubes of turkey for almost 5 dollars I expect meat in there and decent cheese. the dessert was very hard to eat did not know it was turned upside down to get the pastry cream in it was soso but it was so hard to eat as sthe shell was hard to break into so a total waste of almost $9 and I go hungry for dinner tonight

If Sweet Life closed, I would have to find a bridge to jump from. My favorites are the pecan bars, the pumpkin spice cookies, any of the fruit pies and anything with chocolate ganache. They also have really good coffee and a few local ice creams, (try Coconut Bliss, you wont regret it). I cant think of a better place to take a first date or family members for coffee or whatever. Its usually packed every night between 7-11pm, so make sure you arent in a hurry if you go later at night. Tons of vegan stuff. And the vegan stuff is amazing, and definitely not just there so they can say "We have vegan options." Plenty of gluten-free stuff thats amazing as well. You can tell that this business is a labor of love, and it is a pleasure to visit every time and an asset to the neighborhood.

In a city saturated with atrociously decorated interiors, sweet life succeeds in providing sweet relief. In their pleasant atmosphere, one can enjoy relatively cheap pastries and treats. Theyre not the best deserts youll have in your lifetime, but the price is right and the atmosphere is an oasis of well planned space. My only complaint is the service. Ive had a number of the employees just kinda space out or be otherwise incapable of understanding basic requests. In the service industry, this behavior translates to rudeness and inconvenience.

Sweet Life Patisserie is a hot spot of sweetness in the center of Eugene . Very popular with locals, which can make it hard to find a parking spot, let alone a table, on weekends and holidays. But dont worry there are tables out front or you can take your goodies to go and enjoy them at one of the lovely parks Eugene has to offer. Gelato and gluten-free options are also available. The coffee is exceptional as well! Dont let the lines dissuade you if you visit during a busy time. The staff is prompt and the sweets are worth any wait.
