The owner of this place is a complete jerk. We had to ask him to get off the couch to assist us in the humidor, once in there, he spent about 30 seconds with us before getting back to his bag buddies on the couch. when we purchased our cigars he didnt thank us for the business. we of course added insult to injury by sitting down in this place to enjoy our cigar before he called us over to ask us to leave as we had stayed beyond our welcome time. this guy is a complete jerk, DO NOT GO HERE if you are looking for good service or a nice comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a cigar. it is too bad, b/c as others have said, i heard his son is a nice guy...but dont waste your time.

I have to agree with the previous reviews stating that the Shawnee Cigar Shop owner is very rude. I have been to the store at least 5 times in the last year, he was never directly rude to me but his demeanor seemed to imply that he was indifferent to my support of his business. It never bothered me, I just assumed he was an ornery old man, but the last time I went in there he was directly very rude to me and actually cursed at me in front of the other customers. Extremely unprofessional, needless to say I will not be returning. Otherwise, the cigar selection is fine and the lounge is nice, but none of it is worth the rude dude running the place.

The owner, George, is getting a bad wrap in some of these reviews. This is my main cigar stop even though there are two cigar stores closer to my house. He is always friendly and even though he does not always jump up from the couch as soon as the door opens, he is always helpful and will spend time with you. I brought in a lighter that had quit working after a few months of use. I was just hoping he could tell me what es wrong with it. Instead, he gave me a brand new one at no cost and I still have it to this day. This shop is worth a visit and he generally charges a little less than other shops in the area.

I just met him a week ago. George, the owner, overheard that a friend of my sons had suffered an spinal cord injury and we were putting on a fund raiser for him. Without even knowing me or being asked, he donated a very expensive box of cigars which I just picked up (and enjoyed a nice cigar!) and he offered to do more. He has a very big heart and I for, one, highly recommend people shopping at his store. Plus the prices are good and he has a great lounge- two actually. Stop by during any football weekday and lots of friends are there!

My son and daughter-in-law were visiting from Sweden, and we visited to purchase Fathers Day cigars. None of us knew what we wanted or anything about cigars. The owner and a frequent customer of his both spent a lot of time with us helping us select what we had hoped to find. Couldnt have asked for a more pleasant experience or a more knowledgeable duo. My Swedish daughter-in-law was delighted to meet such nice Americans. Will most definitely do business there again!

Stay away from these guys! Got my dad a gift certificate from this place for Christmas, and they apparently changed ownership a few months later but they kept the name! They told him that they would would not honor the gift card from THEIR SHOP! Also cigar selection has been cut in half! Will never go back to this place again!

We held an event there and George was very polite and helpful. He taught us everything a beginner needs to know about cigars, the culture surrounding cigars, and also showed us some great cigars to try. I did not know places like this existed in Columbus, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and am sure to be back soon!
