I have been shopping for a new car at many different dealerships for the past several months (Including Mazda, Honda, Jeep, Lincoln... just to name a few). I have, in my lifetime, purchased five cars. I have had both good and bad experiences along the way. I can honestly say that I had the best new car shopping experience in my entire life today when I was shopping for a new Toyota Avalon at Sunnyside Toyota with Alicia. It was a weekend day and I knew the dealership would potentially be busy, but I was promptly greeted within seconds of my arrival at Sunnyside. Alicia was warm, enthusiastic, and authentic. Her genuine care & concern for me and my needs made the process incredibly enjoyable from start to finish. I never felt uncomfortable or pressured to do anything I didnt want to do. I also loved how she treated me... I never received any "fake enthusiasm" or energy from her that Ive received from other dealerships in the past. Despite it being busy, Alicia gave me her full undivided attention my entire time at Sunnyside, and made me feel like I was the only customer in the entire dealership. Her product knowledge was incredible. She helped me get a fair price estimate on my trade-in car, and then proceeded to introduce me to the car I was looking into (Toyota Avalon). She knew every single button, technology, and mechanism in that car and answered all of my questions. I have had some sales people at other dealerships previously who dont get excited about the process. They have in the past, looked like they are there just because they have to be. Alicia was just as excited as I was about the car! We spent over 3 hours today looking at different trims & features. She also showed me many different color combinations. Im the type of guy who needs to see the color on the car and the interior to know if I really love it or not. She never once made me feel like I was bothering her with all of my questions or requests to see different models and colors. The test drive was wonderful. I was able to test out every single feature of the car in both city and highway roads. I felt so comfortable with the knowledge and experience I was receiving. Alicia was also able to help me adjust my thinking as we went through the process. She found out what my car "must-haves" list contained, and was extremely knowledgeable to offer up alternative trims and packages that I was unaware of. She was also able to show me options for buying at many different payment plans for my consideration. I did not end up buying the car today. I WILL be back. More importantly, Ive told my parents, friends, and family that they need to go to Sunnyside Toyota and ask for Alicia! If you are like me and are sick and tired of being treated poorly during the car buying process, or if you are sour towards the idea of buying a car because of previous poor experiences, please schedule an appointment to see Alicia! She will show you how the process of buying a car can be fun again. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars!

I just purchased a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country Mnivan from Patrick Van Deusen. It was a good experience. I have had some bad experiences in the past in purchasing cars from dealerships. This was a refreshing experience. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because I had to buy a second key for the vehicle (I dont think you should sell a car with one key - $150) and they did not have a bow to put on the vehicle (the vehicle was a present to my wife). First, Patrick listened to me when I explained that I did not have time to come to the dealership and wait all day to buy a car. I explained to him that anything he needed I could scan and email to him and that once we have everything finalized I could come to the dealership to sign papers. He did not push back at all. Versus I spoke with several other dealerships and they basically did not want to have anything to deal with me if I did not come to the dealership. Second, Patrick was patient. The financing that he was able to procure for me was not the best. My circumstances with regard to my credit is not great. I told him I wanted to search around for better options. He did not turn up the pressure. He just said OK and to let him know if there was anything else he could do. Third, Patrick listened again. Once I figured out the financing piece, I shared with Patrick that I was under a time constraint when I came to pick up the vehicle. I could not be there longer than 90 minutes because I had to get back to see my daughter in a play. When we arrived everyone seemed very aware that I had a time constraint and were moving with haste. We got back in enough time for the play. Fourth, Patrick seemed to genuinely care about my situation. I never felt as though he was being deceptive. Everything was transparent. I see deception as part of the trait of not caring about the person or persons you are dealing with and I never felt he was hiding anything. Lastly, I had an issue with a part on the car and Patrick said he was going to see what he could do. I trust he is going to take care of it to my liking. It was a good experience and I look to purchase another vehicle from Sunnyside (and Patrick) within the next two years (even though I live an hour from the dealership). -Dwight

Due to Toyota not covering the repairs of an obvious and dangerous design flaw in my Yaris that is only 6 years old, I will NOT buy another new Toyota. I had planned to buy a new Corolla in a couple of years. I had also told people of my reasonably good results with my Yaris but this has all changed. Toyota has no excuse not to cover this repair. I would have been a valuable repeat customer. However, since Toyota does not care, I will not be. I have performed other repairs on the car that I have not expected Toyota to fix, even tho in my opinion, they are still embarrassing for Toyota, which is the exhaust system. All my friends were surprised that the exhaust failed so soon on a Toyota, but I took it in stride, I considered that somewhat normal. But the suspension bolt that broke is an example of poor quality / design, and is the huge straw that broke the camels back. This is NOT a simple wear-out failure. This is a serious design / quality flaw. (I am an engineer, so I know what Im talking about here.) This cries out, "JUNK". Yet Toyota is NOT supposed to be junk. Taking care of their customers is a way to compensate for such a serious mistake. And I am not being taken care of. It will cost me a lot to fix. (Not to mention the fact that I could have lost control of the car due to this failure.) The car is only 6 years old. And I have cared for the car meticulously. These days 6 years old is nothing. Especially for a Toyota! I have made it clear that this event will for-sure affect my next purchase, yet I am not being taken care of. The dealer only offered me a small percentage off of a large bill. I will be taking it to my normal mechanic. Obviously, Toyota does not care about me, only about short-term profits. That is short-term thinking that is NOT what made Toyota grow into the company it is today. This lack of care is the beginning of the end for Toyota if this is an example of their policies going forward. Funny how I have had better luck with a used 1998 Dodge Caravan. That was such a great value. For my next purchase that Dodge Dart is looking pretty sharp!! :-D
