BEWARE WHO YOUR SELLING TO. These guys are offering extremely different pricing based on (expert lol) opinion. lowest offers ever today lol. First time I traded books in was great. This older bald man took 2 bags of books and offered me 22 dollars. That was fine. 3 days later I go to turn in 4 bags of books hoping for around 30 dollars. A lot of hardcovers including a Odyssey by Homer and some DVds including the hobbit 2. Yes some books had some cat hair from being in my mothers basement Im cleaning out but same condition as the last books I sold. Some were library books which I had no problem donating if they didnt sell. This time tho a (feminine young male) handled the books. You could tell he wasnt looking to hard BC of the cat hair. I waited and when called he offered me a dollar and 50 cents. I laughed and thought the DVDs alone could get me that. I understood about the library books but a dollar fifty total???? Anyways I asked the young manager why and he mentioned the library books (OK) , the condition (same as last 2 bags I sold) and that he was his decision about the prices. I was like wow this guy is cheap and must want a raise bad lol or this place needs to stop taking in books til they sell more lol. So moral of the story is watch who you trade your books into BC they all offer different prices based on opinion (bad system) and try to sell to the older gentleman hes a lot more pleasant.

Not only is half price books in North Olmsted employed by some of the most pretentious people Ive ever come in contact with... they make (on average) 700% on their used books. Ill give you an example: I bought Dark Matter by Blake Crouch from Barnes and Noble on Monday for $16.00 On Thursday I went to Half Price Books to sell it. They gave me $1.00 They are selling it for $7.99 Now I get that since the book is $16 they sell it for half that price... Its in the name. The PROBLEM is that a generally acceptable profit margin for a company is 25% not 700% INSANE. I will never shop there again. Amazon is way cheaper and you dont have to deal with some 19 year old Judas Priest fan who smells like B.O. and thinks he knows everything about Philip K Dick because he watched both seasons of Man in the High Castle. Never go there. Ever. Awful.

This place is like a little piece of heaven! I wish i knew about it before! Store is very large with so much selection. They have a big clearance section as well with books $1-$2 each. I wasnt expecting to find a section of newly released books, coloring books, new stationary/journals, bookmarks, and even action figures! The staff are extremely nice and knowledgeable. Store is very orderly, with books all divided into genera sections. Someone posted about Amazon being cheaper. I disagree. Plus, there is that bonus of being able to physically touch the book and flip through the pages knowing exactly what you are getting. To me, nothing beats that!

They always have something -at least- along the lines of what I need, and even when I havent bought anything and its clear I have no intention of buying anything, the staff has been super helpful and super knowledgeable. One even referred me to Recess in another nook of North Olmsted for what I couldnt find. Again, the staff has always been knowledgeable and helpful even with no promise of a sale. That is HUGELY important to me. I hope you can understand the level of significance of that. I will come back and patronize this store over others on honor of this treatment.

Generally good prices and even if a bit more than online I like to support local businesses. As for trade in another review mentioned yes sometimes seems low but if anything like a business I work at I am sure trade in factors can include how many a store ( or chain) may already have and how quickly it sells. May make no sense to pay top dollar for something that could just sit on the shelf and there is no way a business like this could ever survive even a short period on 25% markup as suggested.

This place is great! There is so much to look at that I could spend hours here. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful even though it was right after the holiday season and they were super busy. There are books, games, and a lot of other miscellaneous stuff here for gifting and the prices are really reasonable.

I love books. What I love more than books is cheap books. You get that here. I like to read technical books ranging from mathematics to computer programming. Some of these books are a little to old but every now and then you get lucky and find one that is suitable for todays usages.

Half Price will give you a fair price for your books. However, if you sell often, the price they give you will go down. Nevertheless, their selection is awesome; I have found many books by Dr. John MacArthur on sale there and have built up my library. I go there often.

Of all the brick and mortar stores, especially in this industry, that do something that makes it worth coming in, its probably Half Price Books. Since youre buying used, you get similar deals to those you find online. Plenty of parking and easy to get to.

Yay! I got a stack of books as tall as my arms for my daughters birthday for only $28. It was like 8 chapter books. They had a reading program over the summer my kids partook in. Each log earned a $5 gift certificate to the store, my kids were thrilled.

Half Price Books has a decent selection of used books at remarkably low prices. Its easy enough to find at least one thing that youll want to read, and if they cant find it at their location, theyll gladly search nearby stores.

I love all Half Price Books locations, but part of the fun is figuring what specialties each one has. This location has a lot of older RPG books and a great section on writing. Possibly my favorite HPB store.

This place sucks. 0 stars. I took a BOX of books in some of which were NEW. They wanted to give me a dollar. I drove from Akron. Kid who gave offer had a rotten attitude. I will NEVER go back there!

For used books the prices are a little high. I dont feel that HPB offers fair prices when purchasing books, even on the new best sellers. Go elsewhere to sell your books.

Lukewarm selection with awful pricing on many things. This is a resale shop that is trying to act as if everything is brand new. Im not a fan. Buy your book on Amazon.

Half price books isnt What it used to be. Its still a great place to get used books for a good price. But no longer a good place to sell your used books.
