I went into your new Mayfield heights location in Ohio at 7:30pm on 11/11/11 . Me and two friends were waiting for a table to open up at a nearby eatery an we went in to browse for merchandise while we waited. My friend bought a energy drink and did not drink it because we were in a restaurant. We went back in after to grab some candy before a movie the same night at 9:20, and we never left the candy aisle near the registers. While we were walking out a manager told us to come back in and argued with my friend that he stole the drink. We cooperated with her because we thought that any rational person would understand this situation as a mix up once they knew that we were already in the store and purchased the drink. We tried to explain to her the misunderstanding but all she did is yell and tell us that we should get out before she called the cops and we all "went to jail for a 2 dollar drink". She rudely grabbed the drink and told us to leave while a large man (not a drug mart employee) stood behind her. I left kind of disturbed and hurt that I was treated like a criminal, and my side of the story was not even herd. I understand we were there close to closing and that is considered suspicious. I have worked retail before and I can understand the feeling, but the way we were approached was in a threatening, aggressive, discriminatory and unprofessional manner. I am amazed that a store manager is trained to respond to suspicious people by threatening them with jail. To be completely honest I do not think I will ever do business with a Drug Mart again until I am apologized to, and in this age of technology and social media I can communicate my displeasure with hundreds of my peers. I have never stolen anything in my life and I am still bothered about this episode several hours later. Hopefully something is done about this.

I live within 2 miles of Discount Drug Mart and seem to have always found myself living close to one of their other stores either on the west side or even the one in Mentor. Despite the other poor reviews, I believe this place is a local gem. I remember going to them with my grandfather growing up bc he was always in need of some hardware for a household repair and this store still carries those basic items. Not that many people even do their own basic repairs anymore, but I do and find this helpful. I also can appreciate the small grocery aisles. I also appreciate their prices, which are always reasonable no matter what Im purchasing. The people who overly criticize this place likely dont have a family and realize the necessity that it is. So the floor has some dirt on it? The only reason why CVSs floor doesnt appear to have so much dirt is bc they have nasty carpeting that has who-knows-what in it! I also find other pharmacies to be out of the way and take me way longer to shop and checkout. I also feel that other stores tend to have less staff during peak hours than Drug Mart. I dont usually review stores but felt the need to up this stores rating and give a different perspective. However, for full disclosure, I have never used the pharmacy as no one in my household takes prescription drugs.

Ive been here a few times now. They do not clean in a very detailed manner, a lot of stains on the floor. Very few associates around, and no paper towels in the restroom. The door opens inwards, as well, to paper towels are needed to get out. These stores dont seem to have guidance over the areas to represent the brand. Targets, Walmarts, CVSs, so on seem to have somewhat of a recurring theme, but these dont seem to have that level of guidance. I assume just a store manager working on what they think is important.

Out in the open was the container they put used flu shot needles in and with an opening wide enough for a grown man to stick his hand in let alone a child. The table was not even waist high any child over 5 could have easily climed up on the chair next to the table and put their hand in and got pricked by a used needle!! Unacceptable..

horrendous. absolutely disgusting. the staff is rude and the management yells at customers and tells them not to come back when they are simply trying to buy a product and get out, not causing any trouble or anything. i will never shop there again and i advise everyone reading this not to as well.

A quick trip for almost anything you need. From filters for your air conditioner to deli meat. I like that you can rent a movie still here. Some things you will pay a higher price for it but if you dont want to go to Walmart or giant eagle, head here.
