Follow Up: I called the store today and let them know that I had a contact at Neiman Marcus who was prepared to back me up that the jeans were fake. The owner that I originally dealt with there wasnt there and the person that answered the phone said that they would be back tomorrow and would call me then. I said that no, that wasnt acceptable and I have contacted several different agencies about this issue, so someone needed to contact me TODAY. Sure enough, I had a phone call back within about 5 minutes. This time, I spoke with Amy (the other owner). She immediately said that she was upset that I had brought it to this level and that she wished that I had just brought in proof. Then I explained that I did bring in proof and that I felt that the way the other owner treated me was unacceptable and that they should take claims like this more seriously than just "shooshing" a customer away! In the end, I did get a refund. I wont be returning to this store, though and Ill certainly be more careful with the merchandise that I purchase at consignment from now on! I really just wish that this situation had been dealt with properly this first time. Original: Ive shopped at Sweet Repeats several times with mixed results. This past time I noticed a pair of Rock and Republic Victoria Beckham Crown Jeans for $70. Given that is about half the price that they go online, I bought them. Once I got them home, however, I noticed that they looked a bit different from the ones that Ive seen in person. I found several pairs of them online and compared the two and the ones that I bought are clearly fakes. I called Sweet Repeats and the manager told me to bring them back in. Thinking she was going to be reasonable about it, I wrote down everything that was wrong with them (compared to the real jeans) and the manager/owner laughed at me saying that she talked to the consigner and she said that she only buys at Nordstroms and Niemen Marcus. I just stared at her thinking "Obviously the consigner said that. Its not like shes going to openly admit that she is consigning fake merchandise! Moron." The manager then told me to leave and that I wouldnt be getting my money back. I really didnt want to have to do this, but I refuse to keep a pair of fake jeans that I spent $70 on. Please! So, I called Rock and Republic and explained the situation and sent pictures of the jeans. Customer service VERY quickly responded saying that the jeans are indeed fake (they never even made a real pair in that style!) and that they would be contacting Sweet Repeats for legal issues regarding copywright infringement and distributing counterfeit goods. Ill be going back there to attempt, again, to get my money back- hopefully successfully this time. I would STRONGLY urge anyone who is thinking of purchasing high end items there to ensure that they are authentic before paying the prices that they are charging for them. Dont be fooled by purses that come with dust bags- or even tags. Counterfeiters these days produce fake dust bags, tags- everything. Sweet Repeats is obviously either ignorant regarding their merchandise or they are knowingly selling fakes. Either way, it is illegal. But, even if you are okay with buying fakes- they are NOT selling at fake prices. They are selling at prices only fit for real merchandise. Rock and Republic suggested that I contact other companies whose merchandise is being sold there as often times if a store is selling one fake, they are selling many. I am in the process of contacting 7 For All Mankind (there was a pair of jeans there that looked highly suspect once, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt- bad idea.), Louis Vuitton, Coach, Juicy and Citizens for Humanity as well. Its sad to see this type of business practice these days. Again, buyer beware.

My first experience at Sweet Repeats was absolutely wonderful! I took one of my Louis Vuitton bags in there first thing in the morning to sell. I was told that sometimes the smaller bags dont sell as quickly as the larger ones. I completely understood and told Jenny I was fine with that. Just a few hours later, she called and told me it was sold!!! Jenny said they use social media to advertise new merchandise and someone came in and bought it. I was overly thrilled! The customer service here is wonderful! I highly recommend Sweet Repeats to anyone in the Charlotte area!

I got it for $60 and it was a smaller bag. I assumed it was real and cheaper due to the usage of it. When I got home, I too, compared it to real LVs. When I brought it to their attention, they said they did not sell fakes, and buyer beware. I just gave up, cause they have always been rude to me. When I walk in the door, its all smiles and welcoming, but as soon as I tell them I have things to consign, they go all snobby on me. Its OK, I have high quality things, and they can snob all they want...I am financially well off and can buy and sell them.

Sweet repeats is two stores in one: a source for casual and junior clothing, and a place to find evening, dressy, and office outfits. The owners and their staff are charming and quite helpful. You can find many suits by St. John any time you visit, plus a variety of things by Lily Pulizer, D & G, Brooks Brothers, Escada, Seven, etc. They seem to have a lot of good sources for clothing, and a frequent turnover of merchandise. PS: when they have a sale, the bargains are AMAZING!
