As a response to anyone who reads the review posted as "Dog CRYING in pain from groomer!". I was there that day and what this person interprets is not accurate. Instead of coming in and attacking the groomers without knowing anything at all, this person could have asked what was going on. Yes, mats hurt, but it is more abusive when the dogs have been neglected and harmful mats have formed in the dogs fur to begin with. If these mats were not demattable, then they would have been shaved, but they werent that bad. This little white dog, also known as a Maltese, is a regular and the owner knows very well that this maltese screams for even he slightest touch. Shes skiddish. They have also learned to stop INSISTING that their dog be dematted because they do not take the time to brush her and therefore the dematting is too much for her to handle. She comes in to be shaved now because of this. This gutless groomer did not say anything to this person because this person came in rude and screaming without knowing anything about the situation. Who would want to respond to that? You can bring your babies to any other groomer, but at least at petsmart you know the groomers are well trained and certified unlike some groomers out there, who can just pick up scissors and call themselves a groomer. Plus there is a giant window to see whats going on with your dog. Can you see that at a private grooming salon? Most likely not, so you may have no clue what is going on back there. I can guarantee the same thing. Groomers may have different techniques or styles, but the basics of grooming is all the same everywhere you go, including dematting. Get your facts straight and get to know your groomer before you go on a rampage and slander people like a crazy person. Also, understand that what you think you see may not be what is really going on.

If you love your animals as if they are your kids, do not leave them alone with these people. They are horrible!! 8-21-09 1PM Let me just say I walked in at the right time in Niskayuna and saw a little white dog crying and yelping through the glass window while this groomer forced the comb through this dogs little ear. The groomer saw me watching and continued to abuse and hurt this little dog! I could not stand by and watch anymore and went into the groomers section to have it stopped! I confronted this person who did not say a word to me. Gutless! However, another groomer working on another pet said this is how the dog always is. Unacceptable! This is the reason I will never bring my babies to Petsmart for any grooming. I wish I recorded this ridiculous act and stayed to talk to the animals owners. Perhaps they will see this review and put the date and time together. I got the manager. I was so shaken up by what I witnessed the manager said he would talk to them, he also said sometimes getting the mats out can hurt! This is animal abuse and if you love your animal do not leave them alone when they are getting groomed. This is very traumatic for your pets. They have wonderful tools you can buy and do yourself at home it takes some time but no one is hurting your dogs and they are happy at home! Please, if you have to bring them to Petsmart insist on staying and watching. You would not leave your child alone at the doctors so do not do it to your pets!

We went to Banfield to have our dogs teeth cleaned. We have her teeth cleaned every year, but we are new to the area so we needed to investigate our options. We called several different pet hospitals for quotes, and Banfield offers the best package. $220 for cleaning and $80 for extractions. Most other pet hospitals start at $400 and charge an additional $100 or more per extraction. Some pet hospitals will not give you a quote over the phone, which is ridiculous because the surgery expenses are constant (blood work, surgery, anesthesia, iv for fluids, etc.). After getting the quote, we made a pre-op appointment for blood work and when the results came back fine, we made an appointment for surgery soon thereafter. Dog went in at 7:30am and was ready to come home at 5pm. Doctor called in the middle of surgery to inform me that all was well and to recommend that two teeth be pulled. Dog came home with pain-killers and antibiotics and we did a follow up the next week. Follow up took 15 minutes. Quick check to make sure the mouth was healing properly and dog did not need additional antibiotics. Overall, prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and effective, and the service seems completely on par with other pet hospitals. I will definitely use them again.

I never write reviews.. ever. But this Petsmart is the worst store i have ever been too. This negative review is not from just one visit but several visits. The people that work there are never around. I walked around the store 3 times and every employee i tried to get to help me said they would find someone else to do it then they would dissapear!! I was there yesterday and my 7 year old daughter wanted a fish.. after 30 minutes we left with nothing. The line at the register had at least 20 people in it while the other employees hid in a room off to the side. Not that i had to wait in it because i never got the fish i was trying to buy!! Petsmart really needs to do something about this store.. all the other Petsmarts are great.

I private grooming salon is alot better then any other grooming because u can see whats going on and they dont get kenneled when done so before you put a private one done u need to get your facts stright firstyou people are mean to dogs Ive seen it with my own eyes too you dont love animals you love the money thats it thank you and have a great day :)

Stopped in on my way home from shelter with my new dog and the staff was exceptionally helpful. They helped me find the right type of shampoo to help wit the dogs dry skin but werent pushy about buying more than I needed. Theyve earned my customer loyalty in just one visit!

Friendly staff. Large selection of pet supplies. No dogs or cats for sale! Only adoptions! Yay! We also use the Banfield Pet Hospital as our vet for our dog.staff is friendly and doctors seem knowledgeable.

Took my puppy (9mos) for his haircut on Wednesday. What a great job!! Max (mini poo) was shaggy and pretty dirty as he loves to roll around outside. Perfect haircut. Everyone in the salon was great.

Good deals on fish equipment but fish selection, quality and lifespan are bad buy your live fish from a specialty store such as Union Aquarium and you will have a much better experience!!!!

Had our dogs nails trimmed for the first time and the woman taking care of our pup was very good despite our dog not wanting to have her nails trimmed.
