You don’t mind paying more for a steak at a really good restaurant than at Olive Garden, right? You want to support the chef and the commitment to a better dining experience. In the same vein, you should shop at Northshire Books even if you can get it cheaper (though not always!) on Amazon. These wonderful folks arrived in Saratoga in mid-2013 and have become a valued member of the community through readings, literary events, and just a wonderful place to hang out. Selection is great for books as well as all kinds of gifts for the literary-minded. If you’re visiting as a tourist, there’s no better place to find guides to local attractions and history both familiar and obscure.

I love the small charm of the bookstore but the employees really ruined it for me. They are not very personable and overall seem very smug and unhappy. My children love the upstairs childrens section but one of the women there gave us a dirty look when my child and his friend each wanted their own bag for the books they picked out. Really? Is it that much of an inconvenience? No one smiles when checking out upstairs or downstairs - the customer service experience on different occasions was not impressive. Well be heading over to Barnes where they actually like bending over backwards and helping people.

they are an out of state company, they come to are city, charge very high prices, do nothing to give back to the community, now they have Hillary coming to help there business, and we are told as tax payers we need to pay for overtime for the police and DPW to accomadate the big visit, why are they not paying for these cost, they are the ones making the money off of it. I will never ever go there again and we are encouraging all of the city residents to boycott them

I love this bookstore. Not only do they have a great book selection, but they also sell a lot of really cool accessories, even some clothing. Theres a great section for kids on the 2nd floor, and theres a lot of seating spread out throughout the store. For more frequent shoppers, theres a rewards card. The employees also offer their opinions on different books, which is helpful.

The charm and feel of the Manchester store is not translated well in this Saratoga iteration. It offers fine books, it seems that a Barnes and Noble has more character however, and thats a shame. A small bookstore like this is capable of offering ingenuity in its design, layout and offering. Saratoga Northshire missed the mark.

Im a fan of books and bookstores, that being said I had to go in when I was in the area. The staff here are very nice and quick to help. My particular interests didnt really have much shelf space, but I can hardly fault them for that.

A great book store with amazing events and knowledgeable, local staff. There arent many book stores in the area, and none downtown, so they didnt have to be as amazing as they are. But they are amazing, and its always worth a visit.

What a wonderful bookstore! When Borders closed in the city I thought "Well, thats it," but this place has a great atmosphere. I havent asked fo anything above and beyond myself, but I feel confident that they would accommodate.

The best books in Saratoga county! I always can find a book on whatever I need to know about. I once lost my phone here and they promptly found me even before I realized it was missing. Great people!
