The only super market in the fasted growing populated neighborhood. open until 10:00pm. Has organic options for produce, nice looking and clean. Not always crowded. Date over items are common. Unless you check date, you may end up bringing home one of the few items expired months earlier. Usually items on sales are commonly expired. the price you would pay would be higher than the price on tag or on weekly store paper unless you let the cashier know. If you buy ten items, there is a likely you ended up paying two items more, or double than their listed price. Some attendants are harsh on customers at times. Yesterday the Bananas were on sale, 49c/lb for regular and 79c/lb for organic. The cashier charged me 99c/lb for a pack of regular Banana. When I asked, the supervisor said the Bananas were loose. When I asked how many Bananas in a cluster are counted as loose, he showed me that the pack looked like opened and closed at some points even though inside there was more than three lb Bananas together in a cluster. Then he went to the Banana stalk with me and found no matching ripe single loose Banana, then let me bring a 1.5lb Banana pack which to him did not consider "loose" banana. I didnt know how a pack of 3 lb clustered bananas were considered loose when a smaller cluster, half of the weight considered not "loose".

3 stars for being the only regular supermarket in the area, as opposed to the 2 upscale Food Cellars 5 and 10 minute walks in opposite directions from this store. Basically, its a small Key Food, with national and store brands, produce, including a small organic selection, and a prepared food/deli counter. Prices are Key Food prices, kind of high, but not Manhattan stupid high. The produce and selection isnt exciting, and sometimes I find the prices hard to find, or perhaps, on shelf tags, for something other than the product near the tag

The only decent groceries store in LIC . . Is well curated, good organic and regular fresh produce, beer and dairy selection, a decent prepared food section . Is slightly pricey no doubt but look out for the deals - for e.g. Roma Tomatoes at $1.49 per pound are 0.50 cents more than regular but I also found tomatoes on the vine (non organic) at 2.49 which is a good deal. Id definitely recommend checking out this store for groceries if you live in the hood.

The one star rating is generous, only because I couldnt give a lower rating. Too bad they did not give the staff an attitude makeover as well when they redid the store. No one there, especially the manager LUIS, has any customer service skills. They are all rude and disrespectful. One of the worst places to shop in LIC. Hope the new Food Pantry will become everyones go to supermarket.

Its a NYC Key Food. Its old, kind of small, and its a crapshoot as to whether any given item will have a price label. Same as every other Key Food. That said, it has a surprisingly decent prepared food section and a better than average beer selection.

Watch the cash register as they ring up food thats on sale for the full price. A lot of times the register is not programmed for sale prices and cashiers are clueless as to what is on sale.
