New customer. Day 1: went into store and they sold me on a really nice kayak. Unfortunately I didnt have my truck that day so I left a $300 deposit. I told them Id be back the next afternoon when they opened (Noon) to pay the balance and pick up the kayak. Noon is when they said theyd be there. Day 2: Drove 45 minutes and showed up at a little after noon excited to pick up my new kayak. Lights out in store and nobody around. Waited for 20 minutes. Nobody opened store. Left a note in the door and left a phone voicemail. Day 3 late morning: No call back. Called the store and asked what was up? Annoyed at this point and couldnt get an answer out of them. Asked if this was worth losing a sale over? She said "I guess so." Said to just refund my deposit. Asked that the salesman/manager call me back after it was done. Day 3 afternoon: Still no call back so I called again. Was told the manager was "too busy" to speak with me. I told them to refund my money right now and that they lost a customer. Conclusion: Unprofessional. Poor customer service. They could have easily recovered the sale and kept me as a customer (and not have a bad Google review) by simply calling me back after I left the first voicemail, or called when they got the note I left in the door, or called back when I asked what the deal was with my sale. Nope: "Too busy." Take your business elsewhere.

Glacier Bay Sports is a fantastic, local, watersports shop that specializes in stand up paddle boards, kayaks, surfboards and roof racks (thule and yakima) and carries everything from the essential gear to all the fun goodies! They are open year round for sales, and offer kayak and stand up paddle board rentals from late spring through late fall. All of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable watersport enthusiasts who are happy to help everyone from the very beginner to the advanced. This shop is located in Britannia Yacht Center on the Northport Harbor, making rentals a breeze with the water in their backyard! There is a great cafe/bar behind the shop, perfect for lunch or dinner after a long days paddle!

The web site said they opened at 1100 showed up at 1240 , there was a sign on the door saying sorry for the inconvenience will open at 1230,,,,,,,, figured they would be there in a few minutes so I waited almost 45 more minutes and then just left......... was going to give benefit of the doubt until I read other similar accounts of the same type. No way to run a business also been waiting for them to have a real web site.

I love to rent my kayaks from this place, they are always very nice and helpful and if you bring the kayak back a little late they dont mind as long, as its not busy, also I love to kayak to bird island and on the outskirts of the town. Its really nice!!!
