Avoid this auction house. They do not respond to emails or phone calls about listings. Items are not properly stored to avoid damage. They pile the stuff up in their small warehouse and damage occurs post-auction.I watched this with my own eyes. They do not employ staff to move inventory around for pick ups and the "ladies" who work there are not capable. Most auction houses employ in-house staff to manage the inventory - typically young guys that can handle heavier items. I agree with other reviewers that found the staff curt - the head "lady" was rude when I asked a simple question. I made the mistake of purchasing an expensive Thomas OBrien rug. Once I got it home and unrolled it I found clods of mud and leaves rolled up in the rug and bright pink stain on the back that had bled through to the front - this stain was not noted in the listing or visible in any photos so it must have happened while in the auctioneers hands.

The Benefit Shop Foundation is a great place to find great quality items and purchasing them for Charity. The purchasing experience is awesome and they make it really easy also to provide resources to have your items shipped to you if you are not there to personally pick them up, which is my case. The staff is was available by phone to assist with any questions I had about the item and was courteous. The Benefit Shop Foundation is a model of how people donating items can help Charities in need.

I have been going to the Benefit Shop since its inception as a thrift store in Bedford, and have become a dedicated shopper at the auction house. Pam, the owner and founder, has assembled not only a highly competent and trustworthy team, her connections in the thrift world and antique world are unparalleled. I ALWAYS find something that sparks my interest and want to bring home. If you havent been to one of her auctions, you should put it on your calendar. Youll be in for a treat!!!

Do not buy from this organizations auctions! Misrepresentation of items for sale, they do not return phone calls. I purchased a ceramic item at an online auction that was described to be in excellent condition. When I received the item it had a very obvious repair. It took 8 phone calls to have them tell me that they will not stand behind their mistake. Do yourself a favor and dont purchase from these people.

I would be very careful about purchasing anything from this company. They falsely advertise products and claim any damage is the responsibility of the customer even when they still have the item and the advertising indicates perfect condition. They are very unethical

I would definitely recommend "The Benefit Shop" auctions to anyone looking to furnish their homes with items that would add character and charm that you somehow do not get with brand new products. - I found some great antique/vintage items for excellent low prices.

An auction house that benefits others in need. What can be bad? Items are often unique and usually very affordable. I live a distance away, and shipping can be easily arranged. You can pick up directly at the facility as well. People are nice and helpful.
