This place is AMAZING. They have a huge selection of hard-to-find retro games plus a few current ones that are better priced than anything else youll find online, and they even pay the tax for you! They can also break the game and case into separate sales to fit your collector needs (for me I already had the game and just really wanted the case). They even CLEAN the game disc(s) you want to buy if its even a little scratched, free of charge, and test it in front of you so that you see that it works! (You can also go there just to clean a CD/DVD if you want, and only for $5 a disc~) Every product they have is a fair deal and the staff are very well-informed about their merchandise-- just ask any employee. And if they dont know off the top of their head, they will take the time to search for what you asked about. My partner and I had gotten to the store just around 5:00PM near closing time, and this guy Mike treated us like we were VIPs. Aside from being an all-around friendly guy and pleasant conversationalist, he stayed with us until 6:34PM helping us find and purchase the games/systems we wanted, more than an HOUR overtime. The Trading Post accepts cash only so there was a bit of a leave for the ATM, but he was patient and waited for us even though he couldve been home by then, doing his own thing. Props to you Mike, you fantastic human you! If youre a gaming nerd like myself, you will absolutely love coming here. And if not, well, shucks youll probably still like it.

Absolute best customer service. For those die hard retro fanatics this is your Disney world. For those interested in learning more or getting more into the retro games... again this is your place. The guys here are not only super nice but very knowledgeable on the merchandise. They will not do you dirty and I mean it. They check every possible choice and show you your options and test it right in front of you. The prices are very fair. Not like most places who just take advantage of you, they care for the customer. It is a business but its also a group of best friends who just love what they do. You wont be disappointed. Mike is the absolute best. My wife and son who arent gamers had a great time here. Definitely coming back.

Prices here seem to be a bit higher than what they need to be for the store to survive. The shopping center where VGTP is located is kinda shabby, so I find it hard to imagine that the landlord wants top-dollar for that tiny store. I wanted the Tiger Woods PGA 99 disc for PlayStation. I wanted to see if the reports about there being a hidden South Park video on the disc were true. VGTP wanted $5 for that disc. I found it at another game store for only $0.99. Japanese import were non-existent. Thats understandable. Many retailers dont want to deal with the slippery slope of having import consoles that use different voltages or domestic consols that need to be modified with pirate chips in order to boot imported games.

This store has got what you need for your video gaming needs. The service is top notch and the material and atmosphere is exciting to be around. This past Sunday I went there to look for games and found something Ive been looking months for and Manager, Mike had waited an hour for the purchase to be completed. This guy was such a nice person and a fun one to be around. He was truly the embodiment of customer service and even gave me more reasons to go to this great establishment. sorry for the lengthy review but if youre reading this, This is the place to go for all your gaming needs!

This place is a nostalgic overload. The games are vast, the library is limitless and they have what people are usually looking for. The staff are very open and engaging to help with deals and trade ins. If you want a good timr, head here. You can get some insight on video game events, stories and even recommendations here for new games. Be smart with your money though because some of the old stuff costs more than you remeber. One gripe I have is that its a cash only store. Bring your wad of cash and take it here if you want some games to play.

This game store is the best owned / operated game store I have been to. Extremely helpful and honest to parents, who dont know what they are looking at. -Seriously great prices (I watch the market) -The best selection in store I have ever seen -Amazing customer service -top notch condition of products When I was a child, growing up in the 90s, I dreamed of a store like this. As the years went on, the dream seemed to get further away instead of closer. This store has made my nerdy dream a reality.

Our son received a broken Nintendo 64 for Christmas from a third party seller on Amazon. We went to Trading Post desperate to find a working Nintendo 64. The staff at Trading Post took such good care of us. They were able to help us pick out a new working system, talk to us about their experiences with retro consoles and they reassured us that we could always call/ come back with questions. What a pleasure!! I will definitely be sending people to the Trading Post.

This is THE place to go for retro games. Their collection is fantastic, they know their stuff and they dont attempt to oversell you. I cant talk enough about how wonderful this place is. Its very obvious that they not only care about their business but they care about video games of all kinds and they care about their customers. I received a credit simply for recommending a friend to the place (who in turn bought an N64). Definitely worth the visit.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I am giving a 5 star review though because of the more niche things like save battery replacement and back replacement for N64 game region conversion. The prices are good, but are a little steep on the more popular games i.e. Zelda, Pokemon Chrono Trigger and such, but its to be expected. Cash Only but there is an ATM next door. Ive been there 3 or 4 times already and plan on being a repeat customer.

I had just got off work and tried to setup my N64, unfortunately it didnt seem to work properly and I decided to call the Video Game Trading Outpost around 7:50 PM (they close at 8) to see if they could help me. Not only did they stay open past their closing time they also helped me clean my game cartridge and helped get my system back up and running. the customer service there is top notch and I plan to buy more games from them soon

One of the best if not THE best retro game shops on the whole of Long Island. The shop provides great prices and service and even sells limited modern console games and different types of videogame themed merchandise. I heard about this place from a friend and from a few youtube videos that featured the shops old location. I never had a disappointing experience.and been going there before they moved to the location they are at now.

It was my first time there and I was a bit scared because all other video game stores that sell retro games were quite rude to me. Not this store. Incredibly nice staff and atmosphere! They really enjoyed helping people and telling the history of the game youre getting! Mike, the owner, was really cool and so was the other staff members! I will definitely be coming back here for more retro games!
