"Toad Lily At The Burgevin" Florist (formerly known as "Burgevin Florist, Inc.") STOLE $100 OFF OF MY CREDIT CARD, and Im furious. I called them and ordered flowers for my mother. I spoke to one of the new owners, Elizabeth Kelly. I told her that I wanted to send $65 worth of flowers to her. I "Google mapped" the distance; theyre only 1.8 miles away. These are the new owners, by the way.... I told Elizabeth that my mom likes mylar balloons and asked if they could include 3 of them in the order. Elizabeth made good on the actual delivery, however she obviously didnt think that I would be visiting my mother shortly after, to see the delivery of their tiny over-priced "drinking" sized glass of flowers. What they delivered was about 5 or 6 very short-cut flowers, in a cheap $4 drinking glass-sized vase, with the requested 3 mylar balloons. They charged me $165.00 for this! THATS THEFT, plain and simple. There is absolutely NO logical reason or justification for that charge. She was only authorized to charge $65.00 total. Elizabeth told me when I ordered the flowers that they were currently renovating their store... Their shop obviously needs the money and has no conscience about scamming brand new customers to get it. When confronted about the theft, Elizabeth seemed unconcerned, never apologized, or refunded me. She just stammered and hastily blamed a former employee. She did absolutely nothing, so I went right ahead and filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and after three weeks, finally got my $100 refund. Upon seeing that they chiefly write their own "tagged" articles about themselves (most search results on them lead to their own articles on their website), AS WELL AS repeatedly writing their own glowing reviews and positing photos on local search engine review sites - Ill be sure to keep posting my experience, so that others can hopefully see what theyre doing. Ironically, they post that every bad review is fake. Bad karma is upon them. You cheat or rob people- and the word will get out. Please do yourself a favor and dont do business with them. Whatever you do, DEFINITELY dont trust them with your credit card number, theyll scam you as soon as your back is turned! THESE FLORISTS ARE THIEVES!!

The owners husband: The conviction in Town of Ulster Court of a man who falsified a Medicaid application submitted to the Ulster County Department of Social Services in 2002, has been upheld by the Ulster County Court. Galen Kelly, who gained worldwide notoriety for deprogramming young people who were supposed brainwashed by the Moonies religious sect, failed to report several real estate transfers made by him on behalf of his mother while he acted with the power of attorney over her assets. Kelly’s sentence included the completion of 600 hours of community service combined with restitution of $5,900 to the Ferncliff Nursing Home. Should he fail to complete the conditions of his sentence, District Attorney Donald Williams said Kelly faces up to one year in the Ulster County Jail. In 1992, Kelly was indicted for allegedly planning to kidnap du Pont heir and Lyndon LaRouche follower Lewis du Pont Smith.[2] The trial ended with acquittal.[3] In 1993, Kelly was convicted to a seven-year three-month sentence in federal prison for the 1992 kidnapping of Debra Dobkowski, the head of the Washington cell of a group called "The Circle of Friends". Kelly had mistaken the victim for her roommate Beth Bruckert, who had been the intended target.[4] During the trial it was also established that the Cult Awareness Network, contrary to its publicly stated policy, in which it dissociated itself from deprogramming, had for many months during the 1990s paid Kelly a monthly stipend for preparing a pamphlet on Lyndon LaRouche.[5][6] Kellys conviction was overturned in 1994 by the appeals court because of prosecutorial misconduct: Assistant U.S. Attorney Larry Leiser had knowingly allowed Dobkowski to perjure herself, and had withheld evidence useful to Kellys defense. Dobkowski had claimed that she wasnt a member of the group, while Kelly had claimed that Dobkowski set him up by switching beds with her roommate, changing her hair and entering the van voluntarily and later claiming to have been kidnapped.[7][8] Dobkowski later pleaded guilty for money laundering crimes and served a 21-month prison sentence.[9] Kelly later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was sentenced to the 16 months he had already served.

I am from the Boston, Ma area and had my wedding in Stone Rdige, NY (4 hours away). I found Burgevin Florist online and decided to book them based on their website, professionalism, and flexibility with my budget. I paid for the wedding myself and my budget limited my flowers to wedding party and parents only. I mainly worked with Brian via phone calls and emails. I emailed Brian a few pictures of the colors and styles I was looking for. I also emailed a list of flowers I liked and a list of flowers on the "please dont use" list. Brian was so easy to work with and understood exactly what I was looking or. My flowers were amazing on my wedding day. The pictures look beautiful. Brian and Elizabeth delivered them personally and made sure I was happy with them before they left. I would definitely recommend Burgevin Florist. The beauty and quality of flowers for the price I paid was better than I could have imagined! Thank you Burgevin Florist!!

My family has been going to Burgevin Florists for many years. Under the new management they are just as wonderful as always. Brians work is inspired- just give him the direction you are looking for and he never disappoints. We use Burgevin for floral arrangements at our home in the area as well as for gifts. I would highly recommend them.

The new owners of Toad Lily at the Burgevin were not even open yet when I needed an arrangement. I called the owners and they were able to accommodate my needs with beautiful flowers, turned around in only a few hours. I could not have been more pleased with the arrangement and service.
