This is not a review about the location itself, however the pick-up service. First, I was told my parcels would be picked up between 1:30 and 4:30. They arrived two hours before the estimated time, okay, whatever. It was raining on the delivery day, so I left the package in my home rather than placing it in the driveway. In my note to the delivery personal, I told them to knock on my door if the package wasnt in the driveway, they knocked once and must have immediately left right away because I couldnt get to the door on time, but I caught them before they crossed the street to go back to the truck. They had two phone numbers of mine, never bothered to call. The guy was extremely rude and inconsiderate in my own home no less! This is a bad image for the SA and I will never donate to them ever again.

The reviewer who described the place as deserted was not completely off his rocker -- on first glance, the location appears to be just a receiving warehouse. But under the awning is a door, and within the door there are stairs, and up the stairs is a HUGE Salvation Army. Youve got to sift through a TON of clothes, but there are in fact some gems to be found. The furniture and home goods are easier to browse, but Ive found that its hit-or-miss. Its a great one-stop-shop for the thrifty -- it offers furniture, clothes, bed linens, TVs, dinnerware, cookware, books, music, shoes, etc.

I scheduled a pick-up for the salvation army to pick up some goods, and I mean real GOODS, my mom passed away and I had a big load to give away. It was late in the evening and I decided to call to see what was taking so long, I was told to hold on because the driver had started late that day. I didn’t move from my apartment, I was left waiting and waiting and waiting… I was left with all my stuff at the door and no one ever showed up. I will never again call again…

You can find very good deals on items especially furniture. The staff make this place unpleasant (some.. not all) Items are often not labeled with a price so you have to try and find the manager who hides in a little room in the back with the door closed. She is a rude and unfriendly person. Dropping off donations isnt any better. If you want a receipt youll be waiting.

My experience trying to donate my used clothes and other items was disapointing and frustrating. I had 4 bins of clothes to donate and needed pick-up service and got the run around. I was put on hold for a very long time and given abrupt answers. I decided to donate my used items to another organization. S.A., I thought you were better than that.

Google said that they are open until 5:30 so we walked many blocks in the rain with all of our stuff there. There were a few guys sitting in the garage of the donation center and it was about 4:30. They said they were closed and that they would not take our stuff. We kept asking if we could please just leave it but they would not let us. Terrible experience.

I love thrift stores but I was very disappointed. The clothes are not well sorted, and it really felt like a big jumble. A lot of the clothes didnt appear to be washed and had staying on it, and they were surprisingly expensive. I normally love thrifting and digging through piles for hidden treasures but this was too much.

Convenient place to drop things off. Just make sure that everything is in acceptable condition. Some of the guys are strict about what they accept especially when theyre getting large dropoffs. There is a store with lots of clothes and furniture. They dont accept toys!

You have have to go up 2 flights of desolate looking staircase. Which at first made me apprehensive but then i saw a friendly face coming down the steps who reassured me i was going the right way. Some gems to be found in the furniture section if you look.

Let me tell you !!!! I got this gorgeous couch for the best deal ever !!!!! Very large furniture selection and a whole room of womens clothes also got a perfect winter coat for $20 omg !!!

Good store, especially considering that this is NYC. Building looks like a warehouse, however, there is a store on the second floor and with decent choice of clothing and shoes.

Havent been there lately, but there WAS a store last summer, its upstairs and a little hidden, so its possible other reviewers missed it. Pretty impressive amount of furniture.
