Went to porto bello of bay plaza on wednesday to buy a suit for a white affair...was told I could pick it up on thursday but chose to pick it up early on friday morning...there was no one there except some dude not from this country who totally ignored me when I entered the store not even a good morning greeting...I go to the rear of the store where the cashier usually is...finally this dude comes to the rear of the store with attitude to ask me what I wanted many minutes later...I told him I was here to pick up my purchase totally discusted by the way he approached me...I slid him my receipt and he returned shortly with my wrinkled linen suit...watched him stuffed in a make shift (plastic bag) and he just passed it to me , not even a thank you...smh...really? I returned to purchase a pair of socks mostly just so that I could tell my original sales man about the rude experience I had with this rude dude...he really didnt seem to care and the rude dude felt that he could continue to be just that...I told the original sales man that I would never buy any thing from that place again and still no one even apologized especially this rude dude...smh again... I told them that need to show their customers respect so that they will come back again so they can eat...if you lnow what I mean... I came back minutes later to let them know that I would picket their store next week...I also let potential customers outside about my unfortunate experience and they agreed...we spend money in those stores in bay plaza and we deserve their respect and patronage if they expect to continue to be profitable in this mall...God I miss the store that was there before it was called Gatsby...now they were classy...

Well, I got to admit that when my husband and I went to the new mall we were going to JCP, when we got there that is when we saw channel 2 and channel 7 news for the opening of the new Mall, this was Thursday August 14th, didnt know about the opening just walked up on it. We went inside to Macys got what I needed and left because of course lines was out the door. When I first got in the building it was nice but it did not feel right to me, unless I overlooked it there were no where for people to sit when tired ( older people ) unless that is coming later. Now not even a week later I see a horrible fight on Facebook that happened there, not too cool with that, I realize it can happened anywhere but I am not to happy with putting myself or my family through that when I dont have to. Its a shame, its a damn shame. With all the stuff that is going on with these COPS today, beating and kiling our children, I still got to believe that there are some good cops black and white out there somewhere not too many, but they are out there. I need to know in a situation like what happened in the Bay Plaza Mall what is a cop suppose to do to protect the other innocent shoppers that have nothing to do with the situation, they cant open fire, what is expected of them. My nerves cant deal with crazyness, unless they get it under control I wont be going there.

FORGET THESE OLD REVIEWS. The plaza was not that bad, but for anyone that had a bad experience its been totally upgraded with a new indoor mall right by the AMC theater and old shops. Theyve done an amazing job. Its a must visit shopping center now. Check out the new reviews for the mall instead. I was blown away since Ive grown up in the Bronx. The surrounding shops in the outdoor plaza are good also and have some bigger places like Toys R Us and Old Navy. You might get tired walking across the big parking lot though so shop strategically, maybe avoid doing that too much. Yes, if you dont like crowds it may be a bit much, but I disagree with some of the reviews and I dont like crowds either. Theres a reason people are coming here. Give it a chance! The Bronx finally has a good mall. Avoid rush hours if you must. The parking lot is not a reason to say its a bad place! If youve forgotten, the Bronx is part of NYC, there will always be traffic, you get over it eventually, maybe you take the bus instead and save your parking spot by your apt (if you live here you know what Im talking about). There are a ton of good options here, you wont know what to do with yourself! :)

KAY JEWELERS STORE.... MISLABELED JEWELRY.....SILVER SOLD AS GOLD. They claim it was a mistake but I am very glad I caught it. I was very close to buying a sterling silver necklace that was being offered at a decent price. For some reason I decided to plug the tag number in the Kays website on my phone and a pair of earrings kept coming up. The salesperson went back to her manager and the manager said that not all items appear online. I became suspicious and started looking at every inch of the necklace looking for the stamp. Very blurry and extremely hard to see there was the 925 sterling silver stamp on a necklace that was going to cost me at least 300 more than it was worth. I took it to the manager and showed him. At this point and with no other option he apologized and said it came stamped from the home office. Not sure who to believe and walked out immediately. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE.

I love, this placexfor the convenience and we finally have a decent mall in the Bronx, I do have a problem with the mall... Which is the fact that they should have and need to get scooter wheelchairs in the mall for the Ederly and the disabled and handicap people! I am scooter wheelchair bound and I like to shop with my daughter and she drives and when I ho with her I use my walker but I cant, walk that far or stand up to long so now I have to wait in the car for her to shop... I would like to go with her in the mall as well. I go with her even though I have to wait in the car because we may do lunch and shop on Saturdays and I have a chance to go out the house for a day. Thank you please consider my request Bay Plaza shopping mall. Thank you, Sincerely yours, Ms. C. Howard. 2/27/2017

There has recently been a mall built around the pre-existing JCPenney store within Bay Plaza. It added to the variety of stores and includes a multi-level parking garage. The new mall even has a Billy Beez for the kids. Bay Plaza and the new mall offer many stores, places to eat, and ample parking. Bay Plaza itself is an outside mall. Walking is required. The new mall is an indoor mall, so you have an option to stay inside on colder, wetter days. There is also a nice movie theatre in Bay Plaza. Stop lights are being added to improve pedestrian safety in cross walks, replacing the stop signs. I have never experienced safety concerns in this mall and find it to be very nice.
