Let me preface by saying that I enjoy shopping here, however there are some important things to note. 1. You will not find good service here. However, for me that is not a problem. There are plenty of other grocers that can offer you better customer service, but that comes with higher prices. 2. Lines can at times be very long. It seems that too often there are simply not enough cashiers available to sufficiently handle the number of customers. However, with an increased number of cashiers would come an increase in prices on the products youre purchasing. I understand this trade-off and, being a broke college student, having access to cheaper groceries is more important than spending 10 minutes or so waiting in line. 3. Security guard is annoying. After youve checked out, you must then present your receipt to the security guard before you exit. This is annoying, especially when there are many customers and the security guard doesnt seem to care enough to move at anything faster than a snails pace. If I were to change one aspect of the store, this would be it. It really is quite a nuisance, however in an effort to combat store loss I suppose its effective and keeps the prices low by not forcing the grocer to make up lost revenue from stolen goods through increased prices. So, why have I rated this place 4 stars when Ive only said negative things about it? Well, theyve got great prices and a great selection of goods, and thats all I needed. Ill take off one star for the negative aspects, but really it affects my satisfaction very little as opposed to checking out at another store and breaking into a cold sweat as the total jumps higher and higher. All-in-all, I find myself shopping here quite a bit. Is it a perfect experience? No, and you shouldnt expect it to be. If youre shopping here, youre most likely a price-sensitive consumer which means you value lower prices above all else.

Two employees standing where the carts are located watched me struggle to rent a cart. I put my quarter in and tried to pull out the cart. I have never been to Aldis in my life, so I didnt know how the locking mechanism worked. Apparently, you push the quarter in while pulling on the orange lock simultaneously. While they were laughing at me struggle, I politely asked, "Do you know how to unlock this?". One of them told me how. I said "Thank you, Im sorry for the trouble." It took me maybe 30 seconds to figure out. When I finally got my cart loose, I turned around to go shop. I was still in hearing range of them and I heard the two men calling me stupid. One said "Some people lack common sense, that girl is an idiot." The other one said, "I wonder how people like that survive." Many people witnessed this and no one said anything. I hung my head in shame, did my shopping, and left. That honestly hurt my feelings to the point where I held back my tears. Im crying now as I write this. Im a single mother who is alsp in college. I dont take care of my appearance and get very little sleep. I wonder if they would have treated me the same if I was a more attractive woman. No one should feel less than human at an Aldis for Christsake. I finally got a babysitter so I could do a little holiday shopping. This experience just sucked all the joy out of my heart.

Similar to a trader Joes, this Aldis allows you to get your staples for the week. Where else can one go to get steamable broccoli for less than a $1.50? Quality also isnt too bad either despite the limited selection. Sometimes, the place runs out of certain items - especially if theyre waiting on the next shipment. Things can be a bit disorganized sometimes - not really a fault of store employees but a failure of shoppers to put things back where they got them. If you go when its busy be prepared for lines since they often have only one or two cashiers operating at any given point in time. All in all, a solid place with some drawbacks. If you emphasize/love value shopping, youll like this place despite its shortcomings.

I was really happy when this store opened in the neighborhood. The selection of food and the prices are really good. However, it is miserably managed. There are never enough cashiers, long lines EVERY TIME, and to add insult to injury, they have removed all shopping baskets!!! The only option left are the shopping carts for which you need a quarter to unlock - you get it back at the end, but most often than not I dont have specifically a quarter with me. So customers have taken to using cardboard boxes in the store to carry their shopping to the cashiers!! I have NEVER seen something as ridiculous, and frankly both inconvenient and kind of offensive. They need to seriously rethink that! Aldi, its EMBARRASSING!!

Its really cheap. Kind of a no frills store. There are far fewer items than a regular supermarket, not a variety of each type of item, and are put on the shelf in the box they came it, like Costco, but in much smaller sizes. They have items that seem to be constant, plus a changing selection. There are a few organic items here and there, but not in one section. The employees are sparse, which means possibly one checkout. Possibly ;two during rush hour as another shopper observed, which can mean long lines, and if you have a couple of items, youre in the same line with people with carts piled high. Even efficient cashiers cant compensate for that.

Aldis is a name brand. Once in awhile, you will find other name brands. Cereals are approx $2. a box compared to $5. in other stores. Milk, eggs, cheese, coffee creamer are all great deals. 32 oz Vanilla Creamer, $2.29 as opposed to almost $5. everywhere else. Breads are fresh, and reasonable. Vegetables/Fruits eh, since not refrigerated dont look to appealing. I find Aldis to be great for pantry staples, toilet paper, paper towels, frozen foods, dairy and by far, cereals. Oh and Organic Soy Milk cannot be beat at $2.20 a half gallon. You really cant go wrong here.

Very great business model that allows for low prices on food products that would otherwise cost more. Everything made and sold by ALDI also has a refund or exchange policy that they honor. So if you dont like something, return it for a full refund and buy something else. Just dont go at a busy time, and beat the crowds by going early in the day. Otherwise some popular items you want will be out of stock. Parking in the area is very limited at peak times. Guess the builders of the complex underestimated how many parking spots theyll need.

Most of employees at the ALDI Riverdale Bronx New York location are nasty and not polite including the managers. Most of employees there are awful with costumers. They dont know what they are doing. The location is filthy. The ownwers of ALDI should take a close eye on this specific location and train better their personnel to have good standards of customer care . Most of employees there make you feel not wanted in the store. Their is almost never carts to shop in the store and they dont like you using the restroom.

I thought this supermarket was great, until we the shoppers are required to leave our personal ID with the security guard at the door, to be able to take our shopping downstairs to our cars, the go back upstairs with the cart to get our ID back? Is this a joke? Not to mention cars are waiting for my parking spot and only one elevator works, who has time for this nonsense after spending your money? Never mind leaving your personal details with a stranger in a security guard t-shirt? Time to go back to stop & shop!!!
