Today, I received the "best customer service" in my entire life at DSW, located in Paramus, NJ. To make it short, I was at the register, trying to order 2 shoes with my size which they didnt have, and I had $100 gift VISA card. The problem was that the register wont recognize this gift card. An associate helped me at first and when it got complicated, a manager name "Bari" came and started helping me out. She was phenomenal. She tried three ways (trying to run it as gift card, visa card, and as debit card) and it didnt work. But! we found a way and it was to buy DSW gift card with that gift VISA card and use it for my final transaction. And everything worked out perfectly. I am blown away by FOUR qualities that Bari had. 1. Excellent Attitude - She was NOT rolling her eyes and passive aggressively sent a signal like, "Why did you come to our store with this card, I hate you!!" She was genuinely there to help me and work this out. 2. Excellent Communication Skill - Whenever she did something, she always let me know and what she is trying and why she is trying what she is trying. 3. Excellent Managing - Even when she was helping me, she was "managing" the entire store through the earphone she had. She was giving orders to other associates in the store and directing them what to do. And she did that to the point it would not bother my transaction. 4. Excellent Work - She really knew how to work the register system. Lets be real. Part of the customer service is being nice but what good is it if the service doesnt get anything done? Bari was very smart and at the end, I was able to put an order for my two shoes and use that $100 gift VISA card. AND, the manager gave me 10% additional discount for the time I waited. Trust me, I dont usually write review like this. Who does this often? But I really felt like Bari deserved this review. I love this DSW location in Paramus. DSW should be proud of Bari, working for them! Thanks Bari!!!!!!

Signs all over "No socks, no problem" to use their disposable socks. A man with the most horrific feet I have ever seen tried on dozens of pairs of sandals for over 20 minutes without any of the staff asking him to put on socks. If you have purchased mens sandals in the the past 3 days... Burn them and soak your feet in some kind of anti fungal medication. I only wish I had a photo of his feet to post.

A larger than average dsw, the womens selection far out numbers the mens options but its proximity to so much shopping makes it worth a visit. The store staff can be hit or miss. Weve had both exceptional and lackluster service. The checkout line is usually a bit long to the point of even making a return (the expedited line) a hassle.

Ignore the bad review below - the store DOES close at 9:30, it doesnt matter if you get there at 9:25, they are not going to stay open for one customer. The selection here is really good, the sale section is huge, and the service is perfectly fine.

Horrendous customer service! Avoid this place! Not even worth one star! Take your $ elsewhere! Just left after looking for shoes for 30mins an employee told me the store was closed because they close at 930..... Guess they dont need $$$

Stock has changed over some time. I dont find the same value as I have in the past. The section is also very generic now. If you go late in a Saturday the store is pretty much picked through and not replaced.

This is really the only place I go for shoes. The place is huge so you have endless choices, from orthadpedic to ridiculously uncomfortable, and for reasonable prices. I very rarely go home empty handed.

Good selection and big parking lot. Cashiers are a big issue. Never enough. Usually the wait to pay is at least 20 minutes. They should seriously consider enough staff to deal with the customers

I love shoe shopping without waiting for store associate to get my shoes. Huge store with lots of choices. Store associates are helpful if you have any questions. Slow checkout at times.
