This was my first time shopping at ShopRite in Chester. The two stars are for the two amazing workers behind the deli counter. Even though more staff should have been scheduled to handle the number of customers waiting in line, they were efficient and very friendly. On the other hand, checking out was a different story. I only had about 20 items in my cart. I had to struggle to reach for the divider because there was a customer in front of me. The cashier observed this and did nothing. I handed my ShopRite card and had to reach in to get it back because she was too lazy to outstretch her arm. She proceeded to scan the items and send them down the conveyor belt. I chose to bag my own items. There were about three items left on the conveyor belt when her replacement came up behind her. She immediately stopped scanning the last three items and said "you can handle this now, sign me off" and walked away, taking her major (and very unwarranted) attitude. She couldnt finish my transaction before leaving? She had to scan 3 items and push a few buttons and hand me a receipt. It would have been all of 2 minutes, but she couldnt be bothered. ANGELINA definitely needs to get another job because she is miserable at this one! JOE GAYDOS, the store manager should be ashamed of himself. Either poor employee training or a poor work environment has fostered this treatment of customers. I would NEVER shop in this store again because of this cashier and because it is also not a very clean supermarket. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY CHOICES!

I purchased some nasty sliced ham at Shop-Rite today. They had it pre-sliced with a bunch of signs all over the case with Black Bear or something like that. I picked up a package of ham and threw it into my cart. Tonight I opened it up and it turns out it is something called Imported Sliced DAK ham. Not really sure what it is, but Im not eating it. First of all it is shaped like a can. The slices are perfect rectangles with round corners. Nature does not make ham in that shape. Also, it was crazy wet and slimy. A real big turn off. I usually get swiss but today felt like getting American cheese. That was a mistake also. Kind of dried out and crumbly. While I am at, Mr. Shop-Rite Owner, I have been to your store in Morris Plains. It is quite obvious that you route the best produce to the Morris Plains store and then send all of the slop that is left over to the Chester store. I figured that made sense when the store first opened, but after all this time you still send all the produce slop to your Chester store. Amazing AND annoying.

Ive just recently relocated to New Jersey and cannot believe the poor customer service at these grocery stores. I assume its due to lack of competition since the Targets,Costcos and Walmarts are so far away. I switched from the Bernardsville ShopRite to this one and at first it was better simply because the store is bigger. However, I cant get over the fact that the cashiers are so rude. I have never experienced this in my life living in three other states. After spending almost an hour shopping, I then bag my almost $200 worth of groceries each time. The cashiers barely make eye contact or offer any assistance whatsoever. You can never find anyone in the store to help you find an item. Today, when I asked someone after looking for 20 minutes where I might find Swedish meatballs she rudely told me to go look in the frozen section. I told her I looked there twice and cannot find it. Her response, with lots of attitude, was it has to be there and walked away. Unbelievable!

Havent been to Big ShopRite in Chester in a while...so, after I got my bearings, I Enjoyed picking up a few essentials! Its very clean & bustling, with lots of Organic Produce, & fresh sundries & baked goods that call your name. But, I only needed milk, eggs & bananas. Although, I couldnt pass up the Olive Bar & frozen blintzes! Poked my head down the Oreo Isle, as I used to work at Nabisco/ Kraft for many years...Amazed at all the new flavors of Oreos, but I passed, as summers coming. Lots of cashiers at check out, so, that was good.

The Chester Shoprite is a big store with decent selection and a good restaurant . Prices are good as well. I do not do my grocery shopping at any Shoprite store. My main grocery store is Stop & Shop but I like having lunch here sometimes.

Nicest shoprite. Has a new organic section. You can buy bulk products and it has a really wide variety of those available. Love the new shoprite. Now it is convenient and much better presented. Looks more like a high end store.

This Shop Rite location is big and exceptionally clean. The best part is that they have a great organic section - much better than the Shop Rite in Mansfield. The parking lot gets a little bit crazy at peak times

This is our primary grocery store. The most recent renovation made this place incredible. Go there hungry and get a hot dinner. Or a salad. Prices are good. Get the Price Plus card and get more savings.

Good selection of food for take out lunch. They really need to bring back the deli cash register. It takes way too long waiting in regular check out lines.

The only grocery market near the residence during our visit, cant go wrong. They offered way more options vs my urban grocery store in my hometown.
