I havent lived here long but I can say that this particular Market Basket makes me want to shop elsewhere. I have been shopping at Market Baskets all my life. This one is awful. The staff are VERY unfriendly. I witnessed a manager talk poorly to a cashier infront of me. Very unprofessional. Asked someone for something I cant find literally got a "if you dont see it its probably not there" response. AWFUL. Humor me. Im a paying customer. The store is just a really confusing layout. the front of the store is just a cluster. It is always packed,packed, packed in there which isnt their fault but I cant help but feel like a better layout might alleviate some of the congestion in there. The quality of the items is very good. Never a problem there just customer service and appearance could use great improvement.

What a dump. Ill start off by saying that the only good aspect of this store is the low prices. Everything else is horrible, including the layout, the management, the quality of food, and the parking. My biggest gripe is that every time I go to the store, I will be screwed over on the price of some item. Without fail, something will ring up as a higher price than advertised. If you buy beer from them, have fun arguing with the manager that yes, the sign does say $9.99 and not $12.99. The cashiers are mostly nice, but they need the managers to handle any discrepancies. This is a problem because the managers are all grumpy and rude. They treat their staff and customers like garbage.

Store has the lowest prices of the 3 super markets in the area. Store is never faced properly, things are just placed willy nilly, you have to dig and pay attention when choosing your items. Employees arent always friendly, but its nothing not tolerable or worth bringing up to management. Products are often out of stock, including things like chicken. Produce is of "meh" quality. Customers are obnoxious, probably because of the low prices a lower quality of person goes. But so do I, because it has significantly lower prices than the competitors.

Market Basket is the greatest food shopping experience that you can have. They have everything you need at great prices and the store is clean and food is always fresh. What makes Market Basket most unique is the staff. From the managers to the clerks to the baggers they are all local very friendly people. In fact this Store in Somersworth has so many local students working there and they have for years employed local students as a part of their family and staff. Southshore great place to run into old friends that are shopping there also.

I agree that the prices are good. My issue was with the parking... the lot is inclined toward the store so be careful when parking store side of the cart corral. My headlight lens was cracked from a cart that rolled down from the far side of the parking lot. I used to work at a bookstore near the store front several years back. This might be very infrequent occurrence, but a little extra walking from the top of the parking lot might be worth the time if you want to be certain your car does not get dinged up.

OK so the store front needs to be redone, but when was the last time you put a store front on your dinner table. These stores are a throw-back to when I was a kid and you used to go to the local grocery store. They have generally good food (great meat selection and fish in my opinion) that sells for 20% less than youre paying at any other chain store. The only thing that lacks in these stores is a great produce section.

This Market Basket is incredible. It has hard to find ethnic foods and ingredients and an excellent selection of organic and whole foods. The produce manager is the best in the area by far. Produce at Hannaf, Fiddlehs and Shws doesnt come close. Usually has a good selection of fresh wild fish too. Local growers and food producers found throughout the store. Overall pricing very reasonable. A gem.

Shopping here is always a great experience. The employees are so friendly and very knowledgeable about locations of items I am looking for. If they dont know, they always point me in the direction of someone who will. My son 2 and loves going to Market Basket! He asks us to go every time we go shopping!

Cant go inside the Somersworth store. The back up sound from the electric carts our too load for anyone wearing hearing aids. Its load , I Have had to leave full baskets and go home.....I will Not buy food at Walmart, but" Fiddle heads" will open soon. Please go to Radio shack and get a little buzzer.

DO not buy lobster from Market Basket. We wasted money on lobsters that have been kept in a pound for what can only be months! Market Basket needs to work with local fishermen, especially in New England. We had to throw the lobster away because it was so tough and bland that it wasnt worth eating.

This place is seemingly always crowded! Good selection, but lacks some stock items of larger Market Baskets. Same low prices. This is an older MB, with narrow aisles. Go later in the evening, itll be easier! So happy MB is in Somersworth!

Horrible store now. The selection is very minimal. Employees dont know why they stopped carrying half of the things I used to buy there. I get everything I need at the Rochester store now. Way worth the trip, and a much better selection.

The better of the Market Baskets in the area. Far more simple then other stores, doesnt have the in-store ambiance of other stores, but its cheaper and the food looks the same in my fridge, so it works for me.
