I would not recommend purchasing a small animal from their location in Lee, specifically their hamsters. I have experience with both Syrian and Dwarves, apparently more than the employee who helped me at this location. The dwarf cages were miss marked claiming that the hamsters were robos and Chinese, I pointed this out to the girl who helped me and she snapped back with, "This is what all of the robos I have seen have looked like." She was unsure of the genders of the hamsters in the tanks, including a pair of dwarves that were in the same cage with each other. After checking them myself Im pretty sure it was a male and female housed together, as I couldnt get a great look with how skittish they were from lack of handling, which can obviously lead to pregnancy, but she also informed me that sometimes they come in pregnant already from the distributor. These along with a lot of misinformation this employee tried to provide me with is what leads me to recommend any other pet store besides the Lee location of Friendly Pets.

This is one of those rare local business that immediately wins you as a lifelong customer. Aside from being spectacularly friendly, the staff is expertly knowledgeable. For example, our Dane has a very sensitive stomach, and we wanted to change her food. Friend Lee staff took the time to ask a bunch of questions about our girl, and their first recommendation turned out to be the best food we ever tried. If I had to spend more to buy there, Id do it, but their loyalty program, competitive pricing, and the help they give you to take advantage of manufacturer credits make shopping at Friend Lee Pets a total no-brainer.

I buy all my dog food and crickets from the store, along with a leopard gecko for my daughter for Christmas. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You get 10% off when you buy 12 cans of food from the same manufacturer. Plus, I get a $5 reward about every 3 times I shop. My kids love going there because if they find a stuffed animal cat they get to pick a prize from a basket, which I was pleased didnt have candy in it last time we found "Katy Kitty."

Great customer service and help finding the right products. Fun additional services such as a dog wash room, and the dog park outside. Horrible pet food selection (I.E. Sells Purina despite a lawsuit concerning its safety, doesnt sell Iams despite being a higher ranked brand than many others). Overall: I would probably recommend this store to a friend, but I would also have to warn them about product selection and having to wait for specific orders.

This is where I go for all of my pet food. The first time I went there, it was before I even moved to the area, while in the process of looking for a house. I went in, they were extremely nice, and I assumed this was a local franchise.. To my surprise, it is actually a small business, with one location. Despite being a small business, this comes across as a very well laid out pet store, not unlike the major chains.

We go for the dog wash stations, and love the combo of self service and decent price. The two tubs allow my wife and I to bathe both our dogs at the same time. There are some issues: The shampoo system needs maintenance or replacement, well bring our own shampoo because nothing comes out using the ones there. As others have noted the blow dryer is decent but adding heat might help it do better on thick fur.

Visited this store on my way through town and picked up a few items for my moms dog. Excellent service, competitive pricing, extremely clean and one of the best local pets stores I have been too. Every time I am in the area I will be back at this store to pick up some tax free toys for the family pet!

Notorious Sow

This place has everything! Its really close to where I live in Barrington and has the lowest prices Ive seen. Definitely worth a visit. The staff was really knowledgeable and they will also be opening a public dog park in the spring, will be coming back!

The staff is wonderful. I just wish you had a stronger blowdryer in your bathing room. I have double coated dogs and the dryer you have isnt strong enough to dry their fur. Otherwise, you all are great! Have a great holiday.

This is such a great store! Everything my animals need is right there, and the prices are much lower than the big box stores out there. The staff is fabulous and so knowledgeable too, always very helpful.

We take our dogs here for baths and whatever small things we need for our animals. They have great selection of higher end food and just about anything else you would need to have a pet. Great place.

Good spot to get pet advice, and they have a lot of products. Raw good carrier, which is nice. They also have a fantastic park around back for members(which is free to sign up for)
