New Life Thrift is my favorite thrift store! My mom started dragging me around to all the thrift stores in the city when I was a little kid, so Ive been to all of them! I appreciate them more, now that Im an older, mid 20-something! New Life Thrift is definitely the best. Ive gotten a lot of really cool stuff at New Life. I almost have to force myself not to look at books anymore, because Ive gotten so many that they dont fit on my bookshelves anymore! They get in a lot of really nice books though, so it is hard! I really like looking at their old vintage/antique items. If they have something cool that I like, but I cant afford it, I usually wait and after its been there awhile the price gets marked down to where I can afford it, which is cool. Waiting for it also gives me something to look forward to. I was kind of surprised at a couple of the negative reviews this place has gotten on here... Of course, negative personal experiences happen, and they certainly cant be discounted, but I myself have never had any problems with this store. There is a lot of stuff to look through, but that is part of the fun--The joy of the hunt! I have a good time shopping at New Life, and I really like all the crazy things Ive picked up there!

I went to store to get some books, store smells of piss, a lot of the books have stains torn pages etc. I found a stack of books I wanted go to pay & lady tries to charge me $69 for books that totaled $8, then went through each book deciding if they were kids or adults when I had them separated already, I was in a hurry & it took forever. I asked for manager, steve comes to front & acts like a complete a hole to us yelling at us. 3 to 4 cashiers were yelling prices out different than what was listed on signs, so I got more upset. Then they said we couldnt buy any books & to leave the store & Steve slams the door on my sons arm & foot which is really hurting him right now. All the money we have given this store for them to act like this is insane. The cashiers looked like they were on drugs so I asked them if they were when they couldnt even ring up my items without the assistance of 4 other people who didnt know what they were doing. I am writing the better business & will never give a dime to this stinky store again.

If your only complaint is that they asked you for ID when you used a credit card - welcome to 2010. Asking for ID is for their protection - AND YOURS! Identity theft is more common than you think - and if it hasnt affected you yet, be thankful. I have a friend whos identity has been stolen TWICE. She cant rent an apartment because Social Security has her listed as deceased. Can you imagine being told "Sorry, you application is declined because, well, youre DEAD!" So continue shopping only where they dont check your ID...but remember, those are the same places that will accept your credit cards from the thieves that steal your wallet, or worse, your identity.

Horrible place to shop. My allergys bother me so much. Can we say CLEAN,SWEEP,DUST PLEASE. THAT OL GUY PRETEND TO PRAY FOR ME BUT SPOOKY. TOUCH MUCH. YUCK. MY MOM BOUGHT A BED BUT IT HAD BED BUGS. COST US $800 TO GET HOUSE TREATED. TOTALLY WILL NEVER EVER SHOP @ THISJUNK STORE. HE HAS PEEP HOLES IN BATHROOM TO WATCH YOU. PREVENTED MUCH. 0 QUALITY. 0 RESPECT OF CUSTOMER. I have been shopping at New Life Thrift for over 15 years. I have found so many wonderful treasures over the years. A great selection and always lots of stuff to pick through. The prices are great compared to most of the thrift stores in town. And after a time they reduce their prices on items too, which some thrift stores never do. The store is clean and their merchandise is clean as well. The staff has always been efficient and friendly. Nice people. Cant get too much better than that.

" new life thrift is simply the best, their ad says and I am all-ways BLESSED when I go there. Service is knowledgeable and courteous and prices are appropriate. I am sad to read complaints about some peoples sharing about Jesus. What about NEW LIFE that is offensive to those naysayers? God is Good and New Life Thrift is a beacon of bargains and blessings!

Store is filthy dirty, I found roach eggs on a piece of furniture I bought last week, then mold on another item. Make sure you inspect your items before you end up with roaches & bedbugs. The health department needs notified of this store.

I love this store! I bought nine awesome items today, for an upcoming weekend getaway. I highly recommend this thrift store. Its clean, reasonably priced and there are dressing rooms. I visited the 36th and Harrison location today.

Still cant believe all the awesome deals I found on furniture and home decor. Seriously scored a great vintage side table for $9! Also, the staff was all really helpful and they carried my table to the car without being asked.

I never leave this place empty handed or dissapointed! You want vintage, retro, modern etc...they have it..dont forget to check out the things that are in cases at the register, there is some great stuff!

There is quite a bit to look at. It is a large thrift store. The prices are low in comparison to competitors. You can get through the line quickly also. My only gripe is they should keep it cleaner.

Wierd store that has nothing of value and of which the patrons exercise strange parking habits which block up the entire lot instead of parking as close as they can consistently.
