Tonight my family shopped at your store in Fenton Missouri at 665 Gravois Bluffs Road. I can not express how sadly disappointed we were at the decline in your store in terms of quality and variety, but most importantly in service. It might be that you are near foreclosure. Perhaps you are about to be liquidated and bought out. If so, I am sorry the economy is wiping out what used ot be the best home decorating and craft store in the area. We used to go to Garden Ridge for everything. Candles, decorator frames, scrapbook paper, wood crafts, chairs, Christmas decor, pillows. Now, it seems you are the haven for low quality scrubs, stale spices, lesser known novels, and cheaply made decor. And even that is forgivable. Everyone needs a store that provides low priced merchandise. However dismal the economy is though, there is no excuse for continuing to pay the wages of employees who do not work. In the Fenton store, there was no toilet paper in ANY of the stalls in the mens restroom. The sinks in the womens restroom were stopped up. The restrooms were filthy. The floors had not been mopped in forever and the surfaces showed visible dirt. Several toilets had not been flushed and the trash receptacles in the womens stalls were overflowing. These conditions breed disease and are detrimental to the health of guests and employees. Sadly, if it werent for having children along for this trip, I would not have discovered that disgusting fact. There was soap in the womens restroom. We were in the checkout lane for over 1/2 hour on Saturday 10/29/11 from 8:30 until 9pm. Check the tapes and the register info. We were "next in line" for the entire 30 minutes. The one customer in front of us had a large cart full of frames. The cashier had her unload the items one at a time and then scanned them. He waited until all were rung before ASKING if the customer wanted them bagged. He then waited for the customer to place each item (one at a time) into the cart. Meanwhile, the other employees, young ladies, played on the motorized handicap accessible carts and made jokes about one anothers bad driving. At no time did anyone assist the cashier by wrapping and bagging, or assist the customer by helping to unload or reload her purchases into the cart. As a result, we were not able to make it to a different store as we had planned to purchase winter coats for our children before the temperatures drop. I am incredibly frustrated at the inefficient way you are operating your stores with no regards for quality, cleanliness or service. However, the greatest lack of service is the fact that there is NO contact information printed anywhere on the receipt. My receipt does not contain a store phone number, address, or even an email address. There is no return policy printed on it either. I called the store phone number when we returned home after finding it on the Garden Ridge website. Ironically, there are no humans there. If you press option 5 for additional inquiries, you are directed to email. I now understand the truth: you do not care about the customer at all. The fact that I am angry does not mean anything to you. In fact, if I was happy and wanting to compliment you, that would not mean anything either. If I had lost my keys, I would not be able to call your store and ask a manager if anyone had turned them in. It is ridiculous that you have structured your company to intentionally eliminate customer contact and feedback. I can not wait until your sad business practices catch up with you and you go out of business. You are a disgrace.

I went in to buy scrubs which in the past I heard were great, I when I started to look everything was crammed together no medium sizes, all xs, ,small,xl xxxl xxxxl. When I went to look for some assistance , no employees where found except one girl who was already helping someone. Its sad to say that the service is horrible, I used to like garden ridge for my home &bedding items. But not so much on the scrubs I understand they are cheap. But finding a size or color was like looking for a needle in a hay stack .. not to mention to check out the wait was horrible. 2 checkers & I saw other ppl just standing around. What do u ppl do while your business is open. ? When u loose ur job for horrible service don't be upset /surprised because u did it to urself. Ill be returning my scrub tops tomorrow 11/13/11 &the continue to buy them from Walmart at least they have associates on the floor to help you,and enough lanes open for checkers.

Im only providing 2 stars because this is the only store, Ive observed, to still have a decent variety of Christmas decorations, this far into December, and good quality ornaments, at that. Its hard to find decent glass ornaments, anymore, and Garden Ridges were impressive. Now for the negative. They have this humongous pillow/cushion section, which recently included a full aisle of dog/pet pillows. On my most recent visit, they had moved that entire section of dog/pet pillows to another part of the store, which I had to find on my own, because there was no one on the floor to ask for guidance. It was very frustrating, because where they moved it to was illogical, and only after exhausting my patience, searching in all the logical places, did I forego logic, and find it over in back, South wall, with the kitchen/bath decor.

AUTOMATED PHONE NUMBER - during hours of operation!? I have to agree with the 06/21 poster. I called to find out if the store was open on New Years Day 2012. I reached the automated answering machine which told me they had "extended hours" for November and December, but no mention of New Years Day (update your stupid machine!) and Instead of being able to reach a human, you are automatically directed to the internet for CUSTOMER SERVICE! A computer cannot resolve customer issues. This is an AWFUL corporate policy. Not only that, when I found a love-seat I wanted to buy the day before, I couldnt purchase it and come back with a truck. Really? You cant slap a "sold" sign on it? A purchase is a sale! DUH. Extremely poor customer service. NOTHING in the way Garden Ridge does business is customer friendly.

If I could rate this customer service 0 stars I would! This is the absolute worst place I have ever been in. The manager was so rude. She kicked us out of the store for laughing..... I was no aware that me laughing with my kids was hurting anyone. I even apologized to her and she told me that I needed to get out of her store before she called the cops. I mean really? I will never go back to this store. I left my cart full of items and left the store. I will never go back and I highly suggest the store manager takes a class in customer service. There was no need to be so rude and treating to call the cops. I will make sure that I tell everyone how rude the stores employees are and how bad this store lacks in customer service.

I had a product that needed a price check...the cashier put it on the counter to call for a look up, which was helpful and speedy. But after ringing it up, it never made it into the cart :( Can you imagine how very frustrated I am because they dont ANSWER THE PHONE! So they keep my $15 or I turn around and drive all the way back? This is very very sad. Twenty miles away, how do they get away with not answering a phone? There could be an emergency, or what if I left my wallet?
