The store is at least thirty years old, first operating as a branch of the former McRaes department store chain out of Jackson. Generally, this Belk location is configured in a race track layout with cosmetics/fragrances and handbags at the rear(North) end of the store at the old mall entrance. The mens department faces the current main entrance at the south end. The home store is along the west half of the store. Belk probably wants to continue having a second location along the MS Gulf Coast to complement the Edgewater Mall location, and since the surrounding shopping center is going through a redevelopment, this is a great opportunity for Belk to embark on a renovation program for this store.

Me and mom went into Gautier Belk about 40 minutes before they closed. The lady who worked there was very rude and told us to leave if we arent buying anything Becuase they would be closing the registers soon ( at least15 minutes before the closing time) Most likely will not go back.

Clean store. Friendly and helpful staff. One of the smaller stores of the Belk chain so it doesnt have the largest inventory but they will order or try to get what you want from another store.

Cheap clothes, but the stench in the store is unbearable, my eyes are watering and my nose burns... I had to dash to the exit after waking around for 5 minutes.
