Wet Paint is a great art supplies store, period. The fact that its local is a bonus. Prices are reasonable and often cheaper even than Blick. Also there are plenty of people working on the floor so theres always somebody available to answer questions if you have them. I mostly go there for markers/pens, which they have a crazy selection of (Copic, Prismacolor, Molotow and way more), gouache and painting supplies. Youd be amazed at the sheer variety of stuff they have crammed in there. Besides all the practical reasons to go, its just a charming, colorful store conveniently near a number of other cute shops/cafés on Grand.

Top notch art supply store. most of the staff uses some of the art supplies as practicing artist or students, so they really have a feel for the products on the shelf. Its really helpful when looking for a particular item for an application, they can often recommend something other than what you had in mind that may work out better. Selection is mind blowing, regardless of your medium to work in.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wow do they have a lot of art stuff. I was there to find supplies for my budding artist and no question was too little to them. There was no way I could have made the informed purchases without them and i felt great about everything I left with. They also would show me a price range of items and let me decide the quality I needed.

I love Wet Paint for all my supplies. They have such a well curated selection of tools from exotic inks to paper to craft supplies to novelty sketch books. Theyre always well stocked and the staff is incredibly nice. They carry such a diverse range of papers in different sizes as well as boutique Japanese pen imports. Cant recommend enough.

I absolutely fell in love with this art store after a friend recommended this to me. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. This is an art store that has many things including things from Japan like pen holders and nibs that I cannot find anywhere else. They truly do deserve this rating.

Wet Paint was one of my happiest discoveries in Saint Paul. I love LOVE that they sell Schmienke and Daniel Smith watercolors and have an excellent array of fine papers including handmade. Their staff are knowledgeable, and patient, and and, well it is simply my favorite place to shop.
