I talked with Charlie at Big Steer Meats about meat for a fundraiser I was helping organize. He was more than helpful and we bought beef, bacon, and chicken. Everyone who had the Frybread Tacos, Juicy Lucys with infused Bacon, and the Chicken Wild Rice Soup were more than pleased. When I went to pick up my order I was happily surprised by the courtesy and friendliness of the staff and how clean the store was. I cannot recommend Big Steer Meats enough. I was working in the area, I didnt want fast food. I decided to look for a deli to get a fresh sandwich. I should have went for fast food. The sandwich I had, was one that was recommended by the owner/mgr. Atleast the people around the guy referred to him as boss.To be honest, the sandwich felt rushed, like I was a bother and the man just wanted to be doing anything but making me a sandwich. It felt like I was a number and even though it appears to be a small business, it has the feel of a chain. No thanks.

Charlie and the whole team at Big Steer provide second-to-none SERVICE! Great quality meats, great meat counter "grab & grill" items that make busy lives easier, excellent Italian items (killer hot dagos & meatballs), just to name a few of my favorites. This is the old fashioned butcher shop with old fashioned service you wont find anywhere else. I drive out of my way to shop there.

I started visiting Big Steer Meats in 1997 after I retired from the US Navy and returned home to St. Paul. I have visited at least once a week since then. Today I stopped in and the guys call me by my first name. The service is always great and the meat selection is awesome. Charlie runs a first class shop and I would recommend his shop to everyone.

Good place for some meat. Unfortunately they dont sell "grass fed" or other meats such as Buffalo. Hopefully more people call for it and they will start to stock it. They have a good variety of brats and dogs.

Best Sausage, Steaks, Chops and Sticks in Minnesota! They also process Venison! I think its second generation owning and operating. GREAT service!!!
