The reviews are true. Some sadly others great! I came to SR. Harris after finding them online recently and this place is amazing for those who love sewing or just looking for fabric to make something out of. I hear that a lot of traffic seems to come from their highway signage marketing 50% off... Which I didnt initially know about or change my mind in coming. But at check out my $180 fabric was cut in half awesome! Then I was told the sign is a gimmick to bring in traffic so still neat. This place is big! Dont lose your kids or you may be the kid. The amount of fabric is just a large warehouse I would consider the size of Joann Fabrics, Hancock Fabrics, and Hobby Lobby Fabric section combined. I do find personally the help I received wasnt too personable. They dont advertise who works or how to cut fabric for those first time goers. So it really became the help of other patrons. The staff - well you dont know who they are but for first timers the process is simpler than I had thought. Pick your fabric, go to the cutting table, measure out the yardage, take a sticker and write the price with amount cut. Done. Im giving them 4 stars based on my service experience, lack of help for new shoppers, but a great selection. They sell buttons and other things for clothing as well!

do you sew? do you want to get your hands on vintage fabric, as well as modern textiles? Then SR Harris is the place you simply have to go to get what you need for your most creative projects as well as your kid friendly ones too! Bring your most skeptical friends with you because SR Harris not only has textiles for your body but they also have textiles for your stuff, with an incredible range of upholstery fabrics, vinyls, and synthetic backing, if someone makes it, then SR Harris has it. This place is amazing, with floor to ceiling stacks and bolts, buckets and buckets of buttons, findings, doodads, blingy blings, fancies, you can get your projects started and finished with everything you need. You are going to love this place! SR Harris has plenty of parking, is a generously sized warehouse with friendly and knowledgeable staff always willing to help you realize success with your ideas!

Love this place! It is HUGE, if they dont sell it here, you arent going to find the fabric you are looking for anywhere. Price-wise it is the same as the Mills End stores, but with more selection. It is still cheaper than any of the regular fabric retailers. I LOVE the zipper selection and they are now getting more buttons in stock. Ive never had an issues with the staff. It can get busy in there but whenever Ive needed help, theyve done the best they can. The last few times Ive been there is was on busy Saturday afternoons and at least twice a sales person came around to the cutting table to ask if anyone needed help. It can be difficult if you are looking for something very specific so be prepared to search.

I normally would give this place a five star, but I went in today and the management was fighting. There was an older man who was yelling at an employee, yelling at the woman behind the register to the point she just walked away, and him and the employee actually continued their argument right behind me as I was cutting fabric! I love this store, but was sorely disappointed with my visit there this morning. I do not like the older gentleman who works there, hes the one who was fighting with everyone, and when he went to check me out just threw my card and receipts on the counter. I do not think this is the norm, but it may be a while before I return.

Lots of cheap fabric! It really is impressive. The staff has been helpful in getting our fabric measured and helping us check out. It is hard to find stuff here given the sheer volume of fabric plus how tightly everything is packed. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time. My primary complaint is that few of the fabrics have their fiber contents labeled. Another complaint is that some fabric can be damaged or otherwise undesirable but you may not know it until you roll out the bolt. Nevertheless... you cant find as good of deals on fabric anywhere else in Minnesota! Well still be going back.

Italian tapestry fabric for $17/yard is crazy-seen for $150 at IMS designers. Gorgeous embroidered silks, leather, you name it. Designer fabric and prints from flowers to 50s to contemporary. Unique for every taste. Self serve, but will help if you ask. I havent had anyone be rude. They keep the prices low, but you do it yourself on the honor system. You measure unless it is several yard and/or really expensive (for them). The prices are on the bolts, some sections are labeled and all is half off what you see. Some a lot more. Love this place.

If anyone can give this WHOLESALE store anything but 5 stars they are insane. Horrible that people can give low ratings on a whim and potentially hurt a business. This place is a one of a kind gem. People drive 100s of miles to shop here as well they should. Chicago has a place almost as good as this one but thats it for the competition in the upper Midwest.. Also, unless you are asking stupid questions maybe the staff is helpful and very very busy selling tons of great fabrics. Dan Kordiak Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Enormous selection but in recent years their prices have gone up to match common places like JoAnns, so youre not saving anything shopping here unless they run specials. They used to run great sales but now they just do a 50% off the regular prices, which brings it down to the same thing as other places. I used to shop here a lot, nobobyd could match them, but now theyre not competitive on most things.

what an fun experience shopping here!! Beautiful, high quality designer fabrics are in abundance! I have been to both locals. Brunsville location is not as overwhelming and they cut your fabric. The Brooklyn Park location is a large warehouse and is so much fun rummaging through all the fabrics. You never know what you will find. A must have to shop there when I visit Minneapolis!!

This place has so much fabric and notions, Ive easily spent 4 hours in here multiple times. I love that they even have leather and full cow sides in a bunch of colors. As a Ren fair goer and cosplay costume maker there is no shortage of selection. A great selection of fake fur for fursuit makers as well! For fellow costume makers this place is very highly recommended!!

Some great bargains and unusual finds on beautiful fabric that will require tons of digging. If quality is important and youre not knowledgeable about textiles, buyer beware and keep in mind this is a true warehouse which means they will always have some 2nd quality textiles. Some of their fabrics are off-grain and you cant always rely on their fiber content labels.

Canyons of Fabric.Dont go there if you are needy or dont know your stuff. They will not make you feel good, or coddle you.Get your Bolt, wait in line, tell them how much you need. They will cut it, and hand you a ticket. If is is under 5 yards you will cut and ticket your self unless it is expensive fabric. Pay for your fabric. Go home and sew!!!
