I cant say enough good things about this place!! They really know their stuff here. I am brand new to owning fish and I probably spent over an hour talking to the workers there between the few times Ive been in. Theyre very knowledgeable and are willing to answer any questions you have! I tried looking up things online but I found it way easier to go into the Fish Doctors store and talk to the employees directly. They told me exactly what I needed and what would be good and not so good for the tank that I have. Other pet stores like Petco and Petsmart know nothing compared to these guys. I plan to buy all of my stuff here for my tank because Im not only getting the product I paid for, but Im getting a wealth of knowledge as well! I am SO happy to have found this place and look forward to making many more purchases from them. GREAT establishment all around!!!

First let me say I am from Toledo, Ohio and it takes me 55 min to drive to The Fish Doctors. I will drive up there no matter what because of their top quality fish, prices & customer service. Toledo has rude fish stores who have employees who know nothing about the fish. The Fish Doctors got my saltwater setup with ease. I was not ever afraid to ask any questions and they told me step by step on what procedures to take. I have even had a problem in the past with a reef and they just gave me store credit! They are people who actually cares about you and your fish! I would highly recommend checking it out and dont let the small outside appearance fool you! We went away for two weeks last summer, and accumulated some algae while we were gone in our salt water tank. We went to the store time after time to try and find answers and things we would do to help the fish. We were sold many different useless products, and got many different responses from different employes. Some of the help we got was great, but unless you know your favorite staffs work schedule, then the help is inconsistent. We are now selling our tank and giving our fish back to the store. They told is that most people who buy salt water fish tanks from them usually kill off the tank in six months or less, and they were surprised ours lasted so long (2.5 years), we will not be buying fish from them again.

I highly recommend this store! All, absolutely All of the staff take time and answer as many questions as you have. Im starting an aquaponics system, which is obviously a little outside of their "zone", yet they are surprisingly knowledgeable about this! The best, though, is that they know what they know and readily tell you when they think it would be best to ask elsewhere; plants are not what they do - but when they dont know they dont pretend it, instead they point me in the right direction (and they almost always point to the right place immediately). Very, very helpful. They have had excellent advice on all my questions, as well as good prices.

You will not find a store anywhere in Michigan that has the experience and consideration for their customers than the people who own the Fish Doctors. They always have time for any question you need answered. They are the most educated group of people you will ever talk to. And they treat you like you are worth something. Not like a piece of whatever. Anything you need they will help you with. And the quality of their stock is far superior than any other store I have been in. You will not be sorry after shopping in this store.

Its a nice store and the staff seem very knowledgeable and are friendly. I drove up from Jackson and got a pretty good price on my live rock. I would rate them higher but I bought 5 green chromis from them and 4 died in a month. A few days after getting them a red rash developed on one of them and it died a week later. Over the course of the next 3 weeks i lost the other 3 and all had the same reddness. The one that survived seems to be doing well and luckily it didnt affect my other fish.

Best fish store for MILES! Prices are VERY fair, definitely cheaper than their closest competitor (FFins)! The selection of both fresh and salt is good. Nice corals. Never lost a fish bought from FDs. Would give it 10 stars but they wont let me round up that high! Tom knows his stuff! And to Adam... I have NEVER paid sticker price for anything! Always cut a great deal!That sricker price is usually reserved for unfriendly customers!

Outstanding place - I drive over an hour to visit this store because they have an amazing staff and outstanding selection of healthy fish. After visiting about 10 different places in the greater Detroit area, I continue to go back to Fish Doctors in Ypsilanti. If they dont have something you want, theyll get it and call you when it comes in. Cannot recommend enough.

The staff is so knowledgable and extremely friendly. Shipments in 3 days a week and if you order something theyll call you when it comes in. They have a huge selection of Saltwater fish, corals and rocks and a large varity of freshwater plants and fish. They have pieces for every sump, pump, and filter. If one person doesnt know something, another does.

i stopped in for the first time to see what they had to offer in the way of freshwater plants and ended up with a plant for my smallish tank as well as a couple of shrimp.the three people working were all busy but they still made sure i got what i needed,were friendly and helpful. the store looked like it was well stocked with everything fish.-john m.

Definitely my favorite tropical fish store in the Ann Arbor / Detroit area. Super friendly staff, and a great selection of both freshwater and marine fish and invertebrates. They also carry a wide assortmant of plants, coral, chemicals, hardscape, etc. The shop can be hard to spot; its set back from the road with a only a small sign out front.

I started both a 5 n 10 gallon tank and knew absolutely nothing about fish. I came upon the fish doctors and learned everything I needed to keep my fish alive and healthy. Everyone is so helpful and intelligent when it comes to fish and tanks. If I ever have a question or need to purchase anything, I go straight to fish doctor.

My favorite mom and pop fish store. The owner is very friendly. As well as most of the staff. If your looking for a place that can get just about any legal fish you want this is your place. They are happy to order you fish if they dont carry them in stock. Or just about any supplies you may want as well.

Very knowledgeable staff, always willing to take the time to educate and offer advice. The owner was happy to order fish they didnt have in stock. Stock aquariums seem clean and all fish Ive gotten from here have been healthy. 100x better than getting your fish at petco or walmart!

Everytime Im here I find something new to look at. Most staff are knowledgeable but you can tell who is new. The owner is great and spent a while explaining the different lighting options for my planted tank. I always go here first for all my fishtank needs
