I had called to make an appointment for me and my daughter and I was told that hair cuts for kids are $31. So I book the appointment for later that day for her and I to get our hair done together. First, instead of her and I getting our hair done at the same time, we got our hair done one after the other so we were there for a total of 2 and 1/2 hours. Who wants to be there THAT long? Second, half way through cutting my daughters hair, the stylist (I dont know her name but she speaks with a Russian accent) mentions that the hair cut is $41... so I told her that when I called up here earlier that day, they said it was $31 dollars. She said, ok you can have the $31 dollar price... well at that point she decides to chop off my daughters hair and give her bangs even though I never asked her to give my daughter bangs. So I say something to her about her and she proceeds to "fix" it by cutting her hair so short that my daughter now thinks she looks like a boy (she is 6) and made my daughter cry. I also, told the stylist, in the beginning, that I wanted my daughters hair to be right above her shoulders so I can still put her hair up in a pony tail. Her hair is so short, just below her ears, that I cant put her hair up .I said to her, I cant up this up, and she said "oh, you wanted to put it up?" Yes! I was clear about that from the beginning. What is wrong with this lady?!?! They ended up not charging me for the cut since I was so unhappy with it- but I dont really care about that. My kiddo left crying and now thinks she looks like a boy and all I wanted was for her to have a quality hair cut and to have a good experience since this is her first hair salon experience. Ive been here a few times myself with no issues, but Ill never come back here again. I dont know if her chopping off my daughters hair was in response to the price conversation or her own "creative" decision but she doesnt get to decide the length of the hair or if she feels my kid should have bangs. What was suppose to be a fun experience for my kid turned into a total disaster. Never. Again.

Bar none, the worst experience I have had in any retail store ever. When I walked into the store, there were 8 or so sales associates hanging out in small groups talking among themselves while customers had to fend for themselves, find products and have questions unanswered. Though there were several customers shopping, as well as waiting to be checked out, the manager never saw fit to open another register to relieve the gathering checkout line. While I waited in the checkout line, my friend who I had been shopping with, left to shop at a different store. During that time she found the items, made her purchases and returned only to find me in exacting the same place … next in line. We calculated the time lapse to be over 15 minutes. While I waited with 4 other customers, two of them began to tell me they do not routinely shop at the Novi Ulta due to poor customer service. The only reason they stopped at the Novi store was because they had only a single item to pick up. They both told me they prefer to shop at the Livonia store because “they treat their customers really well”. Finally, I left the checkout line, approached one of the negligent sales associates and told her that I wished to speak with the manager. Sadly, it was only after this drastic measure that an associate was sent to open another register. When I spoke to the manager regarding the poor costumer service, her only response was “there was a sales representative in to show them a product”. I’m sorry to inform, but excuses to customers do not make up for poor management practices. Yet, the ineptitude did not stop there. The items I purchased rang up at their regular price rather than the advertised sales price, an $18 mistake. After leaving the store, I examined the receipt only to find that the clerk had taken a percent off of every purchased item rather than correct her mistake. Since I will be returning one of the items due to poor performance, I must return my entire purchase in order to be correctly reimbursed. Seriously, enough is enough.

I made an appointment with Irina Budzug and was hesitant because my salon experiences in the past were iffy. I have naturally curly hair and most stylists say they know how to handle it, most dont. Appointment day came and I headed back to the salon and was greeted by Irina, smiling and friendly. My first appointment with her I had all over color and a cut done. She knew exactly what chromatic Redkin color would respond best to my hair type and nailed the coppery tone I was after. She treated me to a hair mask that was much needed, I just didnt realize how much! The cut was awesome too! She knew I wanted to keep some longer layers and gauged it perfectly. That was a great thing because every other time Ive asked for long layers kept the stylists thought they kept long layers cutting my hair wet, as soon as it would dry and curl up a bunch it was way too short. Irina knows her stuff! She a master with color, tackling a very cool hombre to perfection! She treats her clients like family, is a great conversationalist and overall great person....but an even better, the best, stylist Ive ever been to. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Irina!

EXTREMELY AWFUL- I used their salon to get my hair done (first time Ive ever went to their "salon") And keep in mind, even when I worked at Sophora I still shopped at Ulta. So!- I asked them to do extensions, They agreed, and knowing very little about extensions I bought some at Sallys and asked if they could just put those in (instead of ordering some through their store because thats VERY expensive) and so the HEAD OF THE SALON agrees, turns out these extensions were CRAP and NO ONE told me.. Just about the. WHOLE STORE of employees told me how "BEAUTIFUL" they would look. KNOWING that they would NOT work out. So they pubically embarrass me for their own amusement and TAKE MY MONEY! Also- the entire process cost about almost $600... I was overcharged.. Humiliated.. They didnt even do a good job... I had to wait a rediculous time for them to make an "appointment" to take them out... I asked for my money back... And they promised they would do that OR store credit.. AND I HAVENT GOTTEN EITHER... THIS ULTA IS THE WORSTE EVER, FIRE YOUR ENTIRE STAFF PLEASE AND HIRE NEW PEOPLE!!

Best experience Ive had shopping for make-up. Camelia helped me find the perfect foundation for my skin and was very knowledgeable about the products. She was very kind to me and made sure to answer all my questions. Also had a pleasant experience checking out thanks to Karl. Of all the Ultas Ive shopped at customer service here is the best!

I went to the salon to get my hair colored and the woman did a horrible job and wasnt nice. Ive also gone to the salon several times over the past several years to get my hair straightened and Im convinced nobody there knows how to handle African american hair. I will never go to them to get my hair done ever again.
