My computer would shut down and I would receive an error code stating that my computer had just recovered from a serious error I did want to mess with it, thought it was best to leave it “to the experts” and I took my computer to the Geek Squad. I was told it would cost $69.99 for them to look at it and let me know what needed to be done. Over a week later (March 6th) I was called and told my computer was all set and to come pick it up within 5 days. When I asked what the problem was I was told nothing could be found, (Thank you for the 69.99 have a good day) Brought my computer home it never booted up and connected to the Internet, it kept shutting down. Took my computer back to Best buy on 3/8/09 Spoke with MOD Andrew Warson, who basically was polite but told me he could do nothing. Geek Squad was a store within a store and his hands were tied. But if I needed a “substantial discount” on any computer software he could help me. (huh?) One of the Geek Squad (turtle?) guys looked at my computer and told me I had virus and to have them removed it would cost $130.00 (?) Why didn’t you see that 2 days ago???????? You had the computer over a week! Best Buy kept my computer for an additional week. I Paid 129.99 upon pick up and took my computer home; On March 16th I noticed that my computer wouldn’t play sounds. Upon further inspection my computer comes back with an error code telling me I have No video card. I called Best Buy 3/17/09 at 10am and spoke with Rob, I explained the history of this nightmare and he said no problem bring back the computer we can check out out for $69.99 and diagnose the problem!!! UGH! I said no way, you need to come to the house and take care of this, and your Geeks messed this up. I can’t keep unhooking everything and dragging this heavy computer to and from the store on a weekly basis. Once again Rob said no problem, we can come to your house, that will be $150.00. What a snotty little brat!!! Who is in charge there? Pimply faced kids. That’s who!!! Teenagers are holding me prisoner. And Best Buy managers don’t seem to care. I can’t get Evan Chopy to call me back, Andrew Warson washed his hands of the situation, Michael at Best Buy corporate customer service is “looking into this matter” or as least that is what I am told. Best Buy and the Geek Squad totally dropped the ball on this from day one. Customer Service is foreign to this company. I can’t believe that Best Buy isn’t interested in correcting this problem. I will NEVER EVER STEP FOOT INTO A BEST BUY AGAIN.

Very bad experience there with Geek Squad. Admit it I am from China, and not so good at english. But I can do basic communication. We stay best buy about 2 hours with the Geek Squad lady there. But I get nothing to be solved with her. I was so regret to ask someone else there to help us instead of explain all the things to her for about 2 hours but nothing got to solve.She just know nothing and dont want to help you. Finally all the things are solved, My friend went to best buy customer service, the manager help her change to a new mac book. And i go back to home and finally get someone answer my questions in apple call. everything was so simple to solve, we just some one who are new to apple world. we didnt know we should call in and validate our purchase date, we just think if anything we need to do the seller will tell us. as seller didnt tell us anything so we never think about it. And then we went back to best buy store to ask them, what did we get, the Geek Squad women treat us as we are some Chinese guy who know nothing, we are so serious and so patient to explain our questions to let them get what we are saying, they dont know the things we are asking, but she just dont let you know ,just keep saying something else. Whats more she whisper to the customer service person there dont do return for my friend(My friend also totally )?? come on , if we cant do return politically, will we do that?? If they dont have policy about the return, are the kind of guy who do unreasonably things?? Cant you just talk to us directly?? we can understand, maybe we have different culture different way to express own ideas, but that doesnt mean we are different. Why do that kind of things. That is the thing i cant understand, so sick about it. PS: My friends mac s problem is the previous register information cant be deleted, the technical support helped but cant fixed it . And he let her to re-install system. My friend cant accept she just buy it 2 days. they never mention that we can do the return policy in best buy just keep saying we cant return or change.

One star is too high of a rating for this place! Do not buy anything from this store most of all the extended warranty! The "sales team" flat out lies about how the warranty works. Then the manager takes the employees side and tells the customer theres nothing anyone can do! Great manager training alienate the customer as fast as possible. I deal with clients from across the country all day long, this place is run by high school kids. So now we wait for it to be shipped out for repair (hopefully not to Japan or China). I took a chance buying the floor model and the only reason I bought the warranty in the first place was because the salesman assured me that all I have to do is bring it back to the store for a credit applied to purchasing something else. I asked him five different ways how the warranty works and sure enough the first thing they say when I have to return it is "we have to ship it out for repairs before anything else can be done" the exact opposite of what I was told when I bought it. The ironic part is I would have just used the credit to upgrade and buy something better, in turn spending more money. Even if we end up getting a store credit Ill just burn it up on movies and music and be done with them forever. They suck!

OPEN YOUR ELECTRONIC PURCHASE IMMEDIATELY OR WITHIN 2 WEEKS TO SEE IF IT WORKS OR YOU WILL BE SCREWED! Bought an Insignia 42 inch flat screen for my 80 year old mom for Mothers Day with my other siblings.We bought it in March due to a good sale. Kept it in the box until we gave it to her, which still stayed in the box until she got cable moved into a new converted den which was near the end of May. We took it out of the box, plugged it in and a weird picture came onto the screen. We thought it was the cable, so we had them come back out to check it again. Come to find out the crystals in the panel were broken, must have happened in shipping. We took it back to the store and we were stunned that there was nothing Best Buy could do for us because it was past the 14 day return policy. Called Insignia and they listened but couldnt help either because it was past 60 days. Called Best Buy Corporate, they listened, even explained that this is very common for merchandise to get damaged in shipping, but could not help us due to the time frame as well. We are out $300 for a brand new TV that was never used! Please, go anywhere else to purchase your electronics,they will stand behind the product they sell.
