Being a thrift store that offeres a large variety of items (more than Goodwill, persumably) at dirt cheap prices, this Salvation Army store may seem like a decent stop to shop. Unfortunately, for me, the experience was less than what I had expected. For starters, this location is housed inside a former Farmer Jack supermarket; while some things were done in order to get the store converted, various defects (water damage to the ceilings, scuffed, dirty floors (some with metal plates in them)) kept the store from achieving the appeal of being in a welcoming, warm environment. The quality of items will range, but for some items I saw (television sets with static appealing slightly on the media shown, toys out of reach for the kiddies), they were in a dilapidated state. Customer service wasnt a whole lot better. There was a long wait time to check-out (persumably due to a shortage of staff), and I wasnt helped out in looking for anything. The staff themselves are nice overall, but there probably isnt too much to compliment about. All in all, while this might be an okay destination to find something for lower than what you would pay for elsewhere, you would be better off taking thrift store business to the Goodwill store in Canton Township. I would not be interested in returning here any time soon.

This store was a fantastic place when it first opened several years ago-it draws its donations from a wealthy area, and I bought all sorts of high level mens clothes from Places like Brooks Bros, RL, etc.-my closets are jammed with stuff that often still had the tags on it. Now, the word has gotten out, and the place is jammed every day with people from far and wide, and lots of eBay pickers-the rare nice item is gone the second its wheeled out on the racks. I still go to check it out once a week. edit: I was just there tonight-this store has changed from a clean, bright place with top-quality items, to a dirty, messy, sloppy dump-its NOTHING like it used to be.

Their items are WAY too expensive for a thift store. You will see the orginal tag on something for example.. the original retail price on something of $19.99.. and they are asking $16.99 for it. Some items are priced MORE than what they were bought for brand new. Their nic nacs are just way too over priced. I also noticed too a few times that there were items that had other thrift store prices on them for way cheaper. For instance, one item I saw had another thrift store price of $1.99 on it. THEY wanted $12 for the same thing priced as $1.99 elsewear. Who ever prices this crap needs to not be greedy and realize that this stuff is FREE to them.

At one time this was my happy place! I moved away nine months ago and came back today to visit my old thrift store stomping ground, and was sadly disappointed. From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted with literally death metal/Christian? Music… To the fact that I could not get the cashier or the management to understand that if youre doubling something Basic math is something you should at least have a grasp on. As I left the store I handed my punchcard to another patron and said that I will not be back to the Salvation Army ever. It truly is a sad day, that my happy place is now my used to be happy place.

I used to work here. I dont care if youre Christian or whatever, but behind the scenes in the back, this company is truly evil. They yell and scream at employees when they fail to meet the impossible and unnecessary quotas they set every day. It doesnt even make sense why they need 90 + electronics per day. The women in the back are treated like second class citizens, and are replaced as if they are nothing. Manager Dawn, I hope you are reading this, you can go to the most bottom pit of the underworld and burn for all I care; you clearly deserve it after how terrible you treated everyone.

Recently called this store seeking a used portable DVD player for my grandpa to use while he is hospitalized (he loves his old Westerns). A young associate or volunteer answered who seemed very rude and too busy for me. He refused to check the store to simply advise me if they had any in stock or not. "Sir this is a thrift store, we dont stock items"... Sorry to say, Id rather spend my money at Wal-Mart than receive that service.

I love this Salvation Army because they always have something I want, even when Im not looking to buy anything. I mostly buy cds and dvds (which, by serendipity, are heavily discounted at times), but they have a very good selection of clothes too. I dont always care for the customer service, having to wait in long lines or the repetitious music on the overhead, but this is the best SA thats near me that Ive been to.

I went in the store the other day to find some old tee shirts for work and a monitor for a computer and found everything pretty much right away, but i will agree with most people that the prices are too high for used items. I ended up paying under $20 for everything, but only because of my student discount. Other than that, the staff was very polite and friendly, and it was a pleasurable experience.

This Salvation Army has a lot of selection and can get in higher quality products. My two issues with it is that 1) their prices are usually high, and sometimes flat out ridiculous and 2) they use packaging tape that rips off paint on delicate items and is extremely difficult to remove. They have night owl specials and different discounts open. Thursday students get 25% off

Just the fact that its in an area that is average household income they over price items that its own community gave to them. A used Woolworth jacket 39 bucks it was only 60 brand new. Get your head out of your a$$ this is a used clothing store not full blown retail center. Some items are fair priced. Most are not.

Great. Clean store, big location, nice selection, always treasures to be found! Most of the store is laid out well with plenty of room to maneuver carts or strollers, with the exception of the kids area, and a couple other places are tight. But overall wide open, organized, and the staff is very pleasant.

Its so big....you will find something every time...great prices too. Great for organizing your closets or house....baskets and organizing things are a steal. Today I found a Bebe leather mini skirt and a banana republic tank to go with....with tags:D less then $20 for the outfit

Love this store. Love the Salvation Army. Sometimes it can be hit and miss...but that is with any thrift shop or resale store. Yet, the times you find name brand items practically new for $5-10, it is well worth dealing with a time or two of not finding much.
