I called yesterday at 1:30pm to place a cake order to be picked up at 12 noon today. The woman I spoke with seemed very annoyed and said she needed at least 24 hours of notice for cakes (So 22 1/2 hours isnt enough time to make one cake?) She reluctantly took the order and said "I guess Ill have to come in early tomorrow to get your cake done by noon." I thanked her and said "Ill see you then." Well today I arrived at Coldstone at 12:03pm and the lady there seemed confused when I asked for my cake. She came out of the back and said she was really sorry, but there was something wrong with the freezers earlier and that my cake was not yet finished and it would take her another half hour or so to finish it. She was very nice and apologetic. But- I was not going to sit and wait for a half hour (nor could I because the "surprise" party was starting at 12:30), so instead, I ended up with 2 small pre-made cakes (which she did take $6 off the bill) but I still ended up with something I didnt want as well as paid $49.00 rather than $34.95. I was paying for the cake with money my co-workers had collected- and therefore the extra $15 was unfortunately my responsibility. Not a huge deal really, but one phone call would have made a world of a difference!! I could have postponed the party a bit and came later for the cake and it wouldnt have been a problem. Please work on your customer service. I only gave 3 stars because the cakes were still delicious.
