Having never had a tattoo before, I was a bit nervous, but when I walked In the woman that would eventually tattoo me wwalked down the stairs and helped me immediately. I told her I was thinking of getting my first tattoo and showed her what I wanted. She gave me an estimated price and i returned an hour later (make sure you have cash on you- no credit accepted) She took the picture I provided, scaled it down to size, and created a stencil for my arm. We discussed where and how the tattoo would be placed. She was patient as I considered my options. When I sat down to get my tattoo done, after she meticulously prepared by washing her hands and sterilizing everything (including my arm), I talked nervously. The tattooing process was more warm than painful most of the time and Alexis and I talked about all sorts of thing to keep me distracted. I enjoyed our conversation and before I knew it, my tattoo was finished! She told me how to take care of the tattoo while it healed and answered all of myamy questions, gave me her card which is actually a really cool token like thing with her name on it, I paid and left. I realized shortly after that I didnt tip her what I thought I did (tattoo artists depend on our disposable income. It should be obvious that if you tip a bartender a buck for a beer you should probably tip proportionally for art work on your body$. She thanked me and said so graciously "I appreciate anything people give me." Im sure everyone else at the shop is just as welcoming, professional, and enjoyable to talk to as Alexis. The place itself is very calming with low lighting and soft music., as if you were in a place of healing as well as body art. Art covers the walls and artists have books for your perusal of some of their best tattoos. In sum, I would recommend this place to anyone getting a tattoo, whether their first or fiftieth. After doing quite a bit of research, I decided to get my first tattoo done here. I was really excited after reading such good reviews. However, my experience did not go as I hoped. I received a tattoo by Cole. After he drew up the tattoo for me and made a few of the changes I had requested, I had it done. However, it turned out nothing like my vision or the pictures I had shown him of what I wanted. After leaving, I called to follow up about the tattoo to see what could be done since I was extremely unhappy with it. In the end, Cole said that my changes put too much limitation on him as an artist. I had no idea this was an issue when the tattoo was being drawn up. Clearly, there was a huge lack of communication on his part that he felt my tattoo would not fit his style. He did not even offer to refund me but did offer a free touch up. However, I am not sure why he thinks I would go back to see him for more ink put on my body when he did not communicate with me that he felt like he was not a good match for my tattoo. I would have been more than willing to work with him to find a style that we both liked but instead, I am left with a brand new tattoo that I hate and have to get lasered off. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There should never be a lack of communication between you and someone who is going to leave their art on your body forever.

I got one tattoo done here and it was good; however, it was a very simple tattoo. I had come back to get another tattoo and they denied me service because it was 7:30pm and they closed at 8:00pm. Even though I told them I only wanted a very small tattoo, which Im sure wouldnt have taken even 30 minutes, the guys there didnt even give me a chance to show them what I wanted to get. The third time, I didnt like how the guys there treated me when I walked in for a consultation. The environment was unwelcoming and the tattoo artists didnt seem to value their customers. Whenever you get a tattoo, you want to make sure the energy is right and they are doing it with pleasure. Never going there again. The customer service is very poor, overall.

I just recently got my first tattoo (done by Jared) and I LOOOOOVE IT!!! First of all, Leo, Diane, and Jared are amazing!!! ( have not had the pleasure of meeting Matt yet) I was so nervous and was talking ALOT and Jared was totally cool and mellow, and made me feel very comfortable. I designed my own, and Jared made it look PERFECT to what I had originally design. He also explained that some things needed to be altered because paper and skin are two different canvas, and he did a great replication. I stare at it everyday...I am totally in love with it and I would definitely go back for my next one.

Called ahead and asked if walk-ins were welcome. They accept them so I grabbed my stuff and went. When I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and felt completely comfortable there. Everyone there was super cool and honest with their prices. The only downfall is that they do not take cards. They were super cleaned and the guy I had changed his gloves if he touched anything other than the tattoo equipment and my skin. Great music selection was playing and they keep a conversation to make you feel completely comfortable. I will absolutely go back again and loved everyone there!

I’m visiting Michigan for a wedding and decided I neeeeeeded a tattoo (or 2) and Alexis at Spiral Tattoo hooked it up with 2 FANTASTIC Harry Potter pieces for me! She took her time and made sure both stencils looked just right before starting, and was very friends throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Spiral Tattoo and Alexis. Thank you! Hands down.... THE place to go for your tattoo. I would skip all other places and go here. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and talented. These guys are what the real world call artists. None of this sticky page and trace - they hand draw right on your body. Now thats pure talent !
