I used to like this place quite a bit. It was relatively cheap and had decent food, maybe a 3 1/2 star to 4 star place. But I started liking other places better. Havent been there in almost half a year and went twice today. At 10:00 I went in for a breakfast sandwich and also got one of their Pumpkin cupcakes for later in the day. They were busy, but it took me 20 minutes to get the sandwich. That might have been fine, but I was watching, and two people who ordered after me, got almost the same sandwich first. So I went up and asked them the status of my order, and the person at the counter checked, came back and said I was the next order. Then three more sandwiches went out to other people including at least two people who ordered after me. I asked again, and she said theyd just found the order. I got it 5 minutes later. One other woman almost left without getting her order because she had to catch the ferry, and she had been bypassed by later customers who got their stuff first. The cupcake was decent later in the day, but the sandwich was smaller than it had been last time I went but was ok. So, tonight I should have known better, but I stopped to pick up a pumpkin pie. For $15 I got one which had a soggy bottom crust, reasonably nice pumpkin filling but it had almost sand like grit in it. Itll be at least half a year before I go back.

This Place is absolutely wonderful!!! Everythings Fresh and Homemade right there in the restaurant. Winter or Summer you can enjoy watching the boats coming in and out of the harbor; its an absolutely beautiful view. The coffee it roasted and grinded fresh and tastes amazing, theirs such a wide variety of lattes and teas! The bread pudding and Popovers are to die for and theirs something for everyone; meateaters, vegetarians, and vegans. Theirs even delicious coconut macaroons for the gluten free. Sometimes it gets busy, especially in the summer, but if you think about it logically its because its so delicious everyone just wants to flock their. They advertise local artists and the owners constantly in and out, involved in every aspect of the bakery. the staff is upbeat and friendly. All in all its a great place to warm up in the cold months and chill out in the summer, as a local i find it a great retreat. Oh! and i almost forgot they also have free wifi and a public computer. They have something for everyone!

Yes, it is true. Our teething daughter woke up my wife and I at 4:45 one Saturday morning, and subsequently our two older children. Our older daughter asked what we were going to do for the day, and I happened to be thinking of Pie in the Skys coffee, as I am wont to do since I first had a cup last fall (of 2009). Half an hour later we were all on the road, traveling from Philadelphia to Woods Hole just to get coffee. Worth every second of the 14 hour round trip. (we ended up staying the night in a b&b, but nonetheless). The coffee, second to none. The pastries, decadent. If you like coffee, make sure you go here. I prefer Woods Hole to Marthas Vineyard, frankly, and Pie in the Sky is the center of town for us, with the possible exception of the aquarium. The whole town is warm, friendly, unassuming and relaxed. So, just keep going on to the island, and leave Woods Hole and Pie in the Sky for the rest of us, thanks. Peace.

This would be 5 stars if not for the chaos that this place becomes mid summer... between the location, lack of parking and sheer number of customers its a whirlwind just getting the counter and ordering from the case (not an actual order for any of their amazing made to order items) but worth it... sooo worth it, every time! There is nothing they make that I havent loved and stopping in every time Im in the area is a must - regardless of traffic, lines or heat. I would recommend (for a fast meal) any of there filled croissants. Im a huge fan of the spinach and cheese filled but recently tried the arugala/tomato/cheese and I might have a new favorite. Warmed or as is these portable delights are perfect! Their baked goods are equally delightful and portion sizes are gianourmous.... cookies, brownies, turn overs and so on are two (or three) servings worth for me. I hope you get a chance to appreciate the offerings

Once upon a time. I had nothing but good things to say about the Ole Pie in the Sky, but they really jumped the shark, or nuked the fridge, or whatnot. Their quality has really taken a nose dive. Used to really like the day old for 1.50, but the items are mostly inedible, even if there are any. Got some very watery chowder, got some tepid chowder. The peanut butter cookie didnt even taste like peanut butter. The walnut chocolate chip cookie had a dressing of 4 lonely nuts on top. Its supposed to have nuts throughout. And the baked goods are just failing, not enough filling, too much dough, wrong flavors. Its like whomever was the competent chef has departed, and they just dont care. Also do not like the coffee roasting machine oinking up 20% of the floor space, very awkward. It is such a disapointment, and even more so because I used to enjoy it. Will be seeking out other coffee houses in Falmouth.

I dont know where all the people that wrote these raving reviews went or when but the Pie and the Sky that I went to (theres only one in Woods Hole) is awful. Ive been there twice now (thinking Id give them a second chance) and both times its been bad. Its always crowded during the summer months. The staff is reasonably friendly but are always pushing you through there as fast as possible amid the chaos and are quite short with you. Mind you, this would all be worth it if the coffee and food was good, BUT IT ISN"T! Sure their baked goods are ok but nothing exceptional. The $7 sandwiches arent worth your time or money. Both coffees Ive had have been way sub-par. Even if youre addicted to coffee, just skip this place and take on your caffeine headache. Its not worth it.

If I could I would give this place 0 stars. My family and I decided to have breakfast here before boarding our ferry. Great idea, right? Well our ferry was at 1:30, and we had to board at 1:15. We had ordered out food by 12:45 and waited THIRTY minutes with no change. At around 1 we asked about the status of our order. They said another 5 minutes, we figured that would be fine, wed have plenty of time. Fast forward ten minutes, still no order, so we asked the guy that took our order. He came back and said it hadnt even been started yet. We only ordered three bagels with various spreads, and a sandwich. At this point it was 1:10 and we couldnt wait any longer. We got a partial refund, no food, and we had to sprint back to the ferry to board on time. Horrible service

This is one of the most solid, all-around options in town. Great for breakfast or lunch. Hours are extensive, even off-season (big plus, as other places dont do the same). Breakfast must-have is the popover. Make it a sandwich and youre well-armed for a nice long ride on the Silver Sea Bikeway. Their chai is one of the best ones Ive had. Dont miss their pastries and pies. Their blueberry pie is quite impressive. Lots of space too to park your bike out front. Dont miss the local made coffee mugs in the big side window!
