I wont return to this business. Last winter we entered the store to casually browse for a few items I needed, a coffee table and maybe a bed frame. Well-dressed salesman instantly clung to us. Told him I had a decent idea of what I wanted and asked to see tables with those qualities, did not yet mention a bed or boxspring. 20 tables later, despite my insistence on the qualities I was searching for, we convinced the pushy salesman that we had found the table I wanted. Pushy salesman continues trying to sell us more expensive furniture then moves on to different pieces entirely from our original plan. I stupidly tell him I am in the market for a bed, or at least a boxspring for the time being. Upstairs we go, trying to be shoved into buying beds that are way too large and have none of the qualities I was looking for. Salesman brings me a catalog of what can be ordered, I see several I like but not the particular one from last years catalog that I had my heart set on, salesman is not willing to call company to inquire. Pushy salesman gets annoyed that I didnt want to settle right then and there for a bed and insists on "just a boxspring then." Sure, boxspring is fine for now, since I clearly cannot afford the overpriced gaudy wooden beds in-store. Salesman locates the most expensive boxspring I have ever seen, well over $200 (I should just locate some free clean pallets to get my mattress off the floor, good lord), and insists that this particular boxspring could be taken home that day as it was an extra floor model. Salesman even calls downstairs to confirm for me, that yes, I can take it home TODAY. Excellent, I know Ive just been scammed out of a few extra hundred dollars for something I could pick up at Sleepys *now*, salesman insists he can get us a deal at the checkout for these two items total. Salesman then gets quite angry at the "checkout" when I inquire about credit lines or layaway options. Do you not pay your employees minimum wage or more? It appears they only make commission and that is why they are such miserable clods to work with. As salesman walks away, I loudly apologize to the innocent checkout lady that Im just not rich enough to carry around $700 for a coffee table and boxspring, layaway is a fine option for me personally, itll be paid by the end of the month (as they insist on an actual date your items will be paid for by, kind of defeats layaway.) Entire process goes smooth with layaway until I inquire how to get my boxspring. Checkout lady was shocked that the pushy salesman would tell us we could take it home, she calls a few other employees to double check. Pushy salesman mysteriously disappears around this time, so no one could ask him personally. I am told I must call several days ahead before my intended pick-up so that they *might* fit the boxspring onto their incoming shipping truck. Whhhaaaattt. Whatever, Im done with this store today. I return two weeks later to pay off the rest of my order, I had called ahead and been told there were boxsprings available and my table was waiting. This was another lie. As I began the checkout process, it became apparent that again, there were no overpriced boxsprings available. A flustered checkout lady and a floor manager later, I insisted that this boxspring be removed from my order total immediately. Three different prints of receipts later I actually had the boxspring removed, it appears protocol to not fully listen when a customer declines an item pushed onto them by a salesman! Was my order not worth the money? I am told to drive around the back of the store and my table will be waiting to be loaded. I waited over 15 minutes for anyone to show up at the service door, even after another phone call placed to the general store line telling them I was still waiting for my item out back. Clearly, average income people are not valued at this store. If I had placed a larger order would I have had better treatment? My coffee table had nicks, scratches, and chips in it within a month, my mattress is still on the floor.

If your considering buying from them.... PLEASE BEWARE!!!!! Ive been a customer of Raymour and Flanagan for over 10 years with many purchases. We recently bought a reclining sofa and chair. While we did like the pieces we picked out we were very unhappy with their comfort after two to three days of sitting in them at home. Spending a couple thousand dollars you would want to be happy with your purchase. I called the manager who explained their "no return" policy. They make it so you pay a 30% restocking fee and then your next purchase at full ticket price making it nearly impossible to do. Not to mention the sales rep never told us this when we were purchasing. They didnt care about my history with them, how much money I had already spent there, my loyalty to them or the fact that I was unhappy with my purchase. Whatever happened to the statements they put on their brochures about wanting complete customer satisfaction. So please if youre considering buying from them just know you wont be getting good customer service. Secure your options elsewhere, they really do believe we dont have other options. Never again!

What ever you do dont buy their furniture extended warranty. We had armoires and dresser damaged at one point or other. The damage was from air freshener the one you plug into the wall liquid leaked out all the paint came off. At first they sent out a repair person who put so much stain he painted all back wall in the bedroom, we noticed that after they came to take it for replacement. It took them 3 weeks to take the armoires back and bring another damaged one again on about 3 try they finally brought a decent one. With a dresser its another story it started on about 11/29/2013 1st one in a about 3 weeks was damaged. Again we had to wait 3 weeks for tech which declared it bad. After about 2 weeks again the bring damaged one. I refused it. Now almost 4 month later I dont know after 3 or 5 tries I am still without dresser. I cant watch tv because all my home theater sits on the dresser and clothes on the floor for 4 months. You be the gudge for the premium cost of protection plan is it worth your nerves.

I cant say enough about this store -- I bought a couch there in the summer of 2012, moved to Ohio, and then, months later, through a series of mishaps, all the cushion slipcovers were thrown out in the trash! I called the store and was told that they could certainly help me get the cushions replaced. It took a few phone calls and emails to work with the manufacturer, but the salesman I talked to was amazing, and managed to get me replacements very quickly for what I considered a very fair price. Now, this was AFTER Id purchased the original couch -- there was no reason on earth R&F had to help me with the cushions. But they certainly earned my loyalty by doing that. If only there were stores here, I would buy all my furniture there!
