great place to check out vintage bikes. the old mechanic that runs the place is definitely eccentric. but the reviewer that suggests you will fear for your life is out of control. i have not had work done at this shop. but ive been there a few times and know someone who has had four vintage bike restored by this mechanic, and is extremely happy with his work. he was working on current model bikes when i was there. he appeared very meticulous and takes his work very seriously. i did get the impression that he has very little patience for people that try to work on their on bikes, screw them up, and *then* bring them to him. if you are a hack, you might get scolded by a little harmless old man. but if you think you can handle that theres nothing to be afraid of.

The owner of this place is very mean. I went there today to replace tires on my bike. He was not able to give me quote because he said "each bike is different and the price will vary" and as soon as I told him that I bring my new set, he yelled at me for not buying them from him. This guy doesnt even carry decent tires in his dirty store.

Wow, I dont know the last time a business flat-out hung up on me. I just got done asking if they carry valve shims when I heard the distinct sound of a old plastic phone clickety-clicking into its holster. I tried calling back twice and they wont answer. Bad business.
