I had originally gone to Marathon Sports 10 years ago to find the right running shoes to help with my over-pronation and custom orthodics. They were attentive, non-fussy, and easily guided me to the the perfect pair of running shoes I needed. Whomever I talk to, including my podiatrist, commends the choice I made (thanks to them). I purchased the same pair for years, but recently my needs changed. Looking online at a dozens of running sites and shoe selector questionairres did not give me the confidence that what I was going to purchase would really meet my new needs, and I left many checkout carts abandoned. Today I walked into the Marathon Sports in Cambridge, talked to a knowledgeble sales person, they listened to what my needs were, watched my gait on the treadmill, accomodated my orthotics, had me try one just 2 different styles, and guided me to the best pair for my needs. I was in an out of there in 20 minutes with a new pair of shoes that are perfect for what Im looking for. What else can I say other than Marathon Sports is great resource, with knowledgeble staff to guide anyone that wants the right fits amongts dozens of brands and each of their several styles of running shoes.

The best way I can describe my experience with running: I know the left foot goes in front of the right, then you alternate until your legs feel like giving out. Also, you wear shoes. So, when my old department store shoes wore out, and I knew I wanted a new pair that didnt hurt the lower half if my body. The clerk who helped me was extremely patient with my ignorance, and knowledgeable about what kind of shoes I needed to be comfortable running in. In less than 30 minutes, I was setup in an extremely comfortable pair of shoes that were inside my budget. I will be buying all my running gear from Marathon from now on.

First off, the staff is amazing! I was greeted immediately and was asked a few questions so that my experience was efficient as possible. My sells man was amazing. He put me in a running shoe that catered exactly to my needs; I didnt realize that I have been running in the wrong shoes most of my running career (usually I just order shoes online). He had me try out a few pairs of shoes and I ran around the block to make sure they were the right fit and that I enjoyed them. I was very happy with my purchase and I recommend this store to every runner (novice or experienced) I know.

I used to think that running shoes were all the same until I started having knee problems. A PT recommended I go to Marathon Sports so that I could get fitted for proper shoes. The staff is amazing and they will pick out the proper shoe for you. They will NOT just try to sell you the most expensive shoe in the store. In fact, they consistently tell me that the best shoe for me is one of the cheapest. If you are a runner of any kind, this is the only place to get your shoes.

Not a huge selection of styles and/or sizes, which is really annoying....means I might as well go home and order from Amazon since theyll ship to my door vs having to go back to the store to pick it up. Salespeople can be fairly snooty depending on the day. Fine running store, but nothing special. Havent been impressed by the expertise when trying to find new styles to run in.

The workers at Marathon Sports know their stuff. I am an avid marathon runner (7 in the past 8 years with 3 Bostons) and have never been failed by their knowledge and experience on running shoes and BAA apparel. As a loyal customer, I also have the 10% off card (love a deal). I wont buy running sneakers anywhere else.

Traveling Runner: was passing through. Came in the store to browse for 10 minutes - not a soul acknowledged my presence, not hurt by that. However was looking a local running tshirt to grab as a souvenir....not a single item..........you are in Boston what a shame to not have local apparel....what are you thinking???

I came in for light trail running shoes. They showed me the two brand the were the lightest, and let me test run the shoes outside. They showed me what I asked for and it was a fast, no hassle purchase of my North Face running shoes. Perfect.
