Its supposed to be ONE STAR(Poor!) I have a pug and when i first dropped him off, they told me its going to be $44...and i asked if its possible to shave him since pugs shed like crazy...they said its ok, but they dont normally shave pugs..that he wont be happy...i said its fine, he shaved a few times before, so he knows about it. i dropped him off at 9:30am, and by 2pm, i still didnt get a call yet...so i dropped by and he has been ready the whole time! They told me the bill is $60 . I was shocked and asked where the extra$20 came from. They said its because of the shaving, that they dont usually shave pug. I understand, but no one told be about the extra charge when i first asked them, cause otherwise i would choose not to shave him because of the extra $20...and i told one of the staffs that they shouldve at least tell me first and that chubby lady who was reading her magazine at that time didnt even bother to look up from her magazine and said "sorry" with the unprofessional, frivolous attitude. i later found out on my way home that my dog was still bleeding from the nails cutting..and the blood was all over the passenger seat. I tried to get a hold of the owner, they got her on the other line, but she didnt even bother to call me and try to resolve the problem with me directly. All she said they normally charged around $70 to shave a pug and they are now charging me $60(in another words, she felt she had do me a favor by giving me a discount on the charge that i didnt even know about). I am going to call the credit card company tto dispute the charge after24hours, after the bill is posted until she will even bother to call me and resolved anything. However, I wont keep my hopes up after reading all these comments about them..dont think they care.

My darling kitty was in need of a check up and a clean bill of health so we could take her on the plane with us. My cat is a very social cat but tends to get very upset at the Vet as most animals do. I chose Brookline Animal Hospital because its right by where I live, we easily walked there. The office staff was very nice and checked us in quickly. For the last three months we have been trying to convince ourselves that our cat was not a porker and was simply furry ("You know, your cat looks like shes gained weight"..."Its fur! Shes a very furry cat!"), the doctor found a polite way to tell us that our baby girl was a bit "chunky." Along with that came great instructions and suggestions for how to better manage her weight. (Were going to start with a little portion control...) I was shocked at how nonvocal she was during the entire exam until we got to the two shots at the end. She did get a little angry with the second shot but that is to be expected. My husband and I found the cost of the visit to be quite reasonable, especially in comparison to the doctor we used to take her to in NY.

I have been a customer since 1998 and have used their grooming service since 2003 for my 6.5 yr old dog . Everyone in this great shop cares about our pets (and we humans) Very knowledgable about nutrition they have helped me with 2 geriatric, special needs cats by recommending healing diets as well as diets for young healthy pets to help keep them that way. The owner & groomer Mindy is one of the most caring people I know. Her groomers are gentle and talented & the bathers are kind. Regardless what brings us into the shop we never feel rushed, ignored or like an unimportant customer. The retail staff is always willing to help, knowledgable w/ great sense of humor. I being a pet care provider myself recommend BG&PS to all of my customers - and strangers. I love going into the store even just to say hello - its always a pick me up after a day/week. Having tried other local shops we always return to BG&PS

I really enjoy taking my dog to this location. It is fun to let her pick out her own toy, and she even gets a treat! Maybe I am too much of a dog person, but anyone that loves my dog the way that these people seemed to, is pretty great in my eyes. My dog loves it so much that every time we walk by it, she jumps on the door because she wants to go inside. In addition, all the animal products they have here are fantastic. I love being able to buy my dog a toy that I know is organic....as in she will not get cancer from ripping it apart and eating it (as dogs so often do). I love "do it yourself" doggie wash as well! I would definitely recommend this place to others with a dog in the area.

I figure this place doesnt really need anymore good reviews, but I just had to share. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! I took my two super furry kitty cats here today for a shear, bath and nail trim. I was shocked and amazed at how well they handled my fussy girls (they hate these types of things…vets, car rides, grooming..). The whole staff was super nice and welcoming to both my husband and i, and our cats. cant say enough great things! AND i got to play with all the puppies that were in daycare! My cats wont be going anywhere eles!!

I had my dog was training at Compatible Canine, which is located in the basement of this establishment. I had to walk through the grooming area, where the dogs are held and bathed, to get to the basement. I observed the groomers yelling at a very timid dog, and handling them very roughly. The staff doesnt show any signs of understanding animals and I have seen no love for dogs here. I saw all I needed to know; I would never bring my dog here.

Took my dog here a few times. but when I got him this last time they shaved his face instead of just cleaning it. And when I called to ask why he was crying and freaking out from the moment I left with him there was no concern for the animal only a very reactionary response comprised of extreme defensiveness and insulting accusations. poor guy is terrified of that store now. Never again. I hope he goes back to normal soon.

I went there looking for something specific, so I walked in and went up to the counter, and there was an older lady with short dark hair there. I said "Hi, can I ask you a question?" And she looked at me with disgust as if I had the NERVE to have a question for her! Then when I asked her if they had what I was looking for, she just pointed in a general direction and said "Over there!" Worst customer service ever.

My dogs love going to Brookline Dog Grooming. They are treated like family with loving hands. Mindy is the best and most talented groomer. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. One of my dogs has allergies and Mindy has suggested a healthy raw diet plan and corrected all of the problems. Im so happy I discovered this place. Happy pets make happy owners.....
