As a coffee connoisseur from Minnesota I needed my coffee fix this morning. I entered the establishment with my siblings and immediately felt as if I was at home; slow roasted warmth was in the air as was the smell of my unshowered brother. Warmly greeted as we entered I approached the counter to a friendly barista who had me tried the pride and joy of New Guinea. Loved every second of the sample of the roast from that day. I ordered a large latte while my brother got a green tea latte, immediate drink envy. The prettier of the two employees made my sisters drink which was a strawberry-bananna smoothie. While making our drinks they greeted everyone who entered warmly too. If you get a chance and want something other than watered down dunkin or burnt to a crisp roast Starbucks take the extra few miles to check them out. I wish there was an establishment that compares to them in Minnesota. Will recommend and visit again.

Ayer needed a cafe with a nice cup of coffee, and this place is that and more. They roast their own beans in small batches, and sell several varieties of fresh roasted beans from different origins. The regular coffee is great, and their prices for specialty drinks (macchiatos and cortados) is very reasonable. In full honesty, Id be willing to pay a bit more just because I love their coffee and want to make sure they stay in Ayer. Its that good. The baked goods selection is limited, but delicious...overall I think the focus is on the coffee and it shows with the excellent quality. The owners are working behind the counter every day and are very friendly, and I assume they roast beans at night and work hard at this new business. Thanks for bringing great coffee to Ayer, we love it.

Young couple started this shop so it has the homey family run business feel. The coffee is outstanding. My favorite go to is whatever they have on drip and a cappuccino. They make the pastries in-house every morning. For what its worth, this is my favorite coffee shop and Ive visited many cafés in New England. I drive 30 minutes in the opposite direction of work just to get coffee from them at least once a week. These guys are the real deal. Its all roasted in-house, mostly single origin. Try them.

If I lived closer, I would go to Union every Saturday morning and hang out in their comfy lounge area, drinking espresso after espresso. I love coffee, and theirs is seriously good. The quality of the roast is better than any other I can recall, and I love taking home a few bags to make for myself. They have a nice selection of specialty drinks too. I tried a cortado and a green tea latte for the first time there. Ive heard great things about their croissants. Need to try those next!

Very good coffee...on par with other local roasters, and definitely a find out in the (seeming) middle of nowhere. I was very pleasantly surprised, especially since I dropped in during the middle of the afternoon. I was greeted with a smile and ordered the house blend (a combo of Brazilians & Columbian) and it tasted fresh and delicious. In time, they may want to consider more single-origin options, but keeping it simple also has obviously allowed them to be consistently good.

I absolutely love this place! I highly recommend. The one negative is that their hours are limited compared to the chain coffee shops, but that almost makes it better. It makes it seem more special. I like that its not a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. Its more authentic and unique. It has a cool feel inside. They have great options and take the time to make your order right. They never rush. They want to get it right.

The Union Coffee Roaster is an amazing coffee shop that blends (no pun intended) the commercial roasting business with a "Starbucks like" casual, comfortable coffee house. The owners always have fresh baked (organic products) pastries and yummy treats as well as a full array of specialty coffees, lattes, espresso, or cappuccino for your consumption. If youre driving through Ayer this is a must stop coffee shop!

The staff here are always friendly. Im not much of a coffee drinker, but their hot chocolate and steamed cider are delicious. I went with my dad for the first time a few weeks ago. Hes a big coffee drinker and said the coffee was fantastic. Weve been back a few times since. I think this place will be a new regular spot for me.

We love coming here as our pit stop on Nashua Rail Trail. The place is a hidden gem, I wish more of my travels brought me close, their cappuccino is outstanding, on the par with best weve had. The proprietors are young and serious coffee aficionados, always up for entertaining conversion. Keep up good work, Jessie and Carrie!

Great comfortable space, local business. I like coffee with good flavor to it—5 stars there. The espresso is great. The coffee is roasted in-house & bought directly from farmers. Baked goods looked great although I havent tried one yet. No more Dunks for me. I plan to buy all my coffee beans for home here too.

Such a pleasant experience! The folks behind the counter are so friendly, and want you to have a great coffee experience whether its a freshly brewed cup or beans to take away. I really value a local source for freshly roasted coffee and, if you do, too, I recommend this spot to you!

Local roasters. Weve tried all of their "geographic" roasts and each has been excellent and unique. We compared their Ethiopian blend to Starbucks and prefer Union Coffee Roasters-true "fruit" and "blueberry" flavors. Great customer service and convenient location.
