Task - Find the best engagement ring possible on a solid budget. First, Im the type of person that is going to keep looking for the best value until Im blue in the face. I think I stopped in 20 times to look through stones before I found the one. I will say the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly very patient. Even the owner sat with me 2-3 times and brought me in his office to show me his costs on different stones. Second, Jake is the MAN! Not to take away from anyone else, because they were nothing but friendly. Once again though, Jake is the man. He gave me his cell and said to call and text him any time. If youre looking for the right stone and youre me that means youre going to bother poor Jake with texts all the time. I even made a few calls around 11pm or later on a weekend. I know thats horrible, but Jake would respond without a problem and would ensure me that well find the best ring. He was knowledgeable and very professional. He spent most of his time making sure I was happy with my selection versus pressing me to purchase something he thought was great. He made the experience all about me and my future wife and gave the best customer service I could possibly ask for. So thank you Jake for all that youve done! Third, the hardware! I made out with a ring that was brilliant in every sense of the word. Along the ride a learned more than I ever wanted to know about diamonds and the 4 Cs etc. I know its appealing to look online and make a purchase at one of the many wholesalers, but remember youll never have the relationship like you would once you find a jeweler like Nelson Coleman. I think something that really stood out to me was the fact that because a diamond may look good on paper (4 Cs) doesnt mean it will give that sparkle and brilliance. Its very important to touch, feel, and hold your hardware to understand what youre getting in a diamond. End Result - They found me the perfect diamond for a perfect girl and I couldnt be happier. Nelson Coleman is now my jeweler for life.

I happily accepted, a couple years prior to my engagement, my Grandmother’s diamond. It is a beautiful diamond and the history to it was something I couldn’t turn down despite the fact it was not the shape I had always envisioned would be in my engagement ring. I was recommended to Nelson Coleman and dragged my boyfriend, who was not ready to propose, to the store to just look! We met with Susie and I showed her the diamond I had and explained what I felt like I wanted. She was extremely patient and put together an image of a phenomenal 3 stone ring. She knew we weren’t ready yet and knew there was no guarantee she would get our business when we were. Over the next year both my boyfriend and I stayed in touch with Susie as we made other purchases such as a men’s watch and some of their fun trendy jewelry. About 8 months after our initial visit she reached out to my now husband saying she had a setting that was exactly what I would want. Still he was not quite ready, but asked her to keep him updated if the setting may sell. After another 3 months he was ready and called Susie. The setting was still there and all he had to say was “it’s go time”. He got the diamond to her and a couple months later I received the most beautiful and unique ring ever! Of course we purchased our bands from Nelson Coleman and continue to be dedicated clients. I don’t think we would have had the same experience or received the same service at any other store. Anytime we had, or still, walk into another jewelry store there is always the feeling of pressure and someone jumping on top of you wanting to make a sale. This has not, and has never been, the way with Nelson Coleman or Susie. I recommend anyone that asks to this store.

My experience was a disaster. My husband and I were looking for my 25th wedding anniversary gift. We were looking for the perfect bridal set.We were buzzed into the store. The store was not crowded considering it was a beautiful Saturday morning. We began to look in the jewelry cases that were immediately to the right. I thought someone would have greeted us when we started showing interest in a couple of settings. I had the rings in my hand. We couldnt proceed to the next set of jewelry cases because there was a couple who had the interest of a couple sales associates. My husband and I walked the opposite direction so we could continue to see what this location could offer. Again, we saw several settings which attracted my interest. No one has yet said Good morning or May I help you. My husband and I stopped looking in the cases and began to look around to see if anyone would assist us. My husband attempted to get the attention of a young lady at the register but she never responded to him. We stood and stood. A older lady came out of a office ,but never came to us. I walked over to this office. Not one customer was inside and asked if someone was going to wait on us. Two ladies came out... one claiming to be a owner. There was a feminine young man who walked past me and never greeted. If it matters my husband and I are African American. I have never been so hurt in all my 48 years.

I was looking for an antique ring for my wife and I heard through an acquaintance that Nelson Coleman carried a large selection of estate jewelry. I was real excited because you arent going to find estate jewelry in a mall jewelry store. I have to admit that when I pulled into the parking lot I was a little intimidated by this store at first. I thought I was going into a store that was way too upscale for my liking. I totally stereotyped the place as a jewelry store for old rich people. I almost turned around , but I figured Id give it a chance. As I walked around the store and looked at the price of some of the jewelry....Necklaces that were $25,000....rings that were $30,000...and I was looking for something closer to $500-$1,000, I thought that no one would give me the time of day in this place. Lets just say Im glad I didnt turn around and leave. I met with Jake, who is in charge of their estate jewelry collection. He was one of the most down to earth business people I have worked with. I was looking for an antique ring that had an emerald in it. Their were rings like that in the store, but they all had emeralds that were gigantic. Jake took an antique ring band and found a smaller emerald from their collection to place in the ring. It was an experience that was fantastically easy. I would definitely go back to Nelson Coleman Jewelers!

Very happy with my experience with them so far. Ive been a little skeptical about where to take my ring, especially after going to a shady shop I promptly walked out of, my friend ended up recommending Nelson Coleman Jewelers and so far I am quite glad she did. I took my engagement ring in for resizing, and was met with a very friendly and helpful staff member, Jake, who explained the risks with resizing my specific piece due to the design of my ring, but that he didnt think it would be a problem. He was very personable and professional. With resizing my ring theyre including polishing, cleaning, and tightening/resetting stones if necessary, which is absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to see my ring when its finished! *Update* I picked up my ring yesterday and I couldnt be happier. Jake was just as pleasant and friendly as he was during my first visit. My ring looks absolutely gorgeous and fits perfectly now. They did an amazing job, I highly recommend Nelson Coleman Jewelers. I will definitely be going back for any future jewelry needs. One thing that really stood out to me on my return is that Jake mentioned the "stunning" review I had posted after my initial visit. I thought that it was wonderful that they read their customer reviews. It really shows how much they care about their customers and how they are doing.
