Very disappointed with the service at Hunt Valley Jewelers. I dropped an engagement and a wedding ring off to be resized, and was promised to have the job done within one week. The initial interaction was good, Tim was very nice and helpful. The day after it was supposed to be done, I went back to the store and saw Tim was there. When I told him I was there to pick up my rings, he appeared to be stalling while scrambling to find the rings, and when he finally did find them, they hadnt been touched. I was supposed to be proposing to my girlfriend that night, and the day after I was told my rings would be done, they hadnt even been touched. Tim offered no apology, not even saying a simple "Im sorry that this happened" or anything, he just kept saying "what do you want me to say? My guys been sick." When we expressed that we were upset, he shut down, put the rings in a plastic bag and threw them on the table and said "Im done." then walked into the back. What kind of business gets mad at you when they dont deliver? He was just overall very condescending and dismissive. I guess thats the luxury of being an owner or co-owner of your own business, you can treat customers however you like. We left and took the rings to Smyth, where they cleaned them and offered a ring guard so I could go through with proposing, and theyre going to resize the ring same day for us this week. There are plenty of high ratings for Hunt Valley Jewelers on this site, but this is a fair warning, if youre going to do business there, avoid Tim at all costs.

I was referred to Darrel at Hunt Valley Jewelers by a close friend when I started my search for an engagement ring for my now fiance. From the first visit, he made me feel like I was his most important customer. He took the time to educate me on the process, providing input and feedback on the ideas I had while making sure I got what I wanted. When it came time to look for the main stone, he was the only jeweler that took the time to put it under the microscope so I could truly appreciate what I was purchasing, and trust me it took a lot of stones to find the right one. My fiance wanted her ring to be unique and incorporate some small diamonds from a necklace that her grandmother gave her. We worked together to come up with a great design that achieved both goals and encouraged me to see the ring at each stage as he crafted right there in his shop. Any nerves I was having about proposing vanished when I went and picked up the final product. All I can say is, beautiful. My fiance and anyone she shows it to are in love with it. If youre really looking for an enjoyable process of picking out a diamond and creating a truly stunning ring, look no further than Darrel from Hunt Valley Jewelers!

I was in the area for work and my favorite necklace of all time, broke off right in my hand. I stopped in the Hunt Valley Jewelers due to convenience and desperation, however I will now be shopping there all the time! Tim, the owner, was very consoling and helpful with my broken necklace even though they are a very upscale place, he didn’t make me feel like my business wasn’t appreciated. They restrung it for me within a week at a very affordable price and did it without pressuring me to buy anything else. I told my husband the whole story and he ended up going to Tim for my Christmas present! We will not go anywhere else for jewelry after my first experience, good customer service goes a long way!

I came to HVJ to find a diamond for an engagement ring. The owners were exceptional. They spent a few hours with me on a couple separate occasions knit-picking over diamonds until we found one that was in my price range and was of the best quality available. They gave me an exceptional deal on the diamond and encouraged me to look elsewhere to compare prices, which I did. There was nothing in the community that I could find that even came close to the price, quality and service that I got at HVJ. I will go back for every jewelry purchase from now on because of how well they treated me.

Hunt Valley Jewelers has amazing service. I felt like they really cared about me as a client, and even sent a thank you card after I went to their store a few weeks later with coupons inside. They didnt try to just sell me something expensive, or waste my time looking at stuff I didnt mention having interest in. They showed me a nice selection of engagement rings, but in the end I decided to get a custom band done and mounted and I cannot express how satisfied I am with the product. I will be back here for all of my jewelery needs for sure!

Tim, Kathy, and Daryl are top notch! Theyre professionalism and expertise has made for such a wonderful experience in purchasing our wedding bands. My fiance also purchased my engagement ring through them and they helped him with every decision along the way. They even custom made the ring - its absolutely perfect! I received great service the first time I walked in the door. Other stores just let me look at stuff in the cases but within minutes of saying I was looking for an engagement ring, I was looking at diamonds. I have since purchased an engagement ring (which was customized), the matching wedding band (which was built from scratch) and two wedding bands for myself (one custom made to fit next to my class ring). Its too bad Im moving out of town soon, but I plan to continue shopping here.

This is, in short, a phenomenal jewelry store. They created a breathtaking pair of earrings for me out of stones I had from unused jewelry. They treat you like royalty, are the epitome of kindness and honesty and boy, do they "deliver!." To top this off, their pricing is truly reasonable and, unexpectedly less, especially when you compare it to other local competitors.
