I was very disappointed with my selling experience at uptown in timonium. I have enjoyed shopping there in the past and have found decent deals (some clothing is stained so be careful). I took a bag of gently used clothing to sell and my entire bag was rejected (except for a pair of shoes). The grounds for their refusal was that there may have been items stained/overly worn/or out of style. I was frustrated by this response because I was deliberate in only offering clothing the was completely stain free and in good condition. While I cant argue with their sense of whatever is fashionable, Im amazed that the items I was offering were considered "out of fashion". All in all, I only made 8 bucks and when I returned home, I found that all of the clothing was folded and organized exactly as I had left it. Im extremely disappointed that my time was wasted and that the store couldnt be bothered to actually go through the clothing I brought. Although Ive had great exeperiences with employees in the past (theyve usually been awesome) I am definitely not going back to the timonium store with my services or with my business.

I would have liked to write a glowing review about my experience with Uptown Cheapskate but no such thing could come from me about them. My first time attempting to do business with them was a failure. They failed at being professional, courteous and fair. I arrived at 10:06 a.m., filled out their paperwork, no one bothered to tag my bag, was told to come back between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to hear their monetary offer for my belongings, lots of excuses were made about them being swamped....came backed after 4 p.m., they couldnt find my name on their list, after locating my name, they made a measly offer equivalent to pocket change for my things still w/ price tags but I refused...requested my bag with all my belongings...when I got it, an item was disheveled instead of refolded and two items were missing...they made more excuses while I took silent breathes to keep calm...after searching around they found my missing items...They made no apology. I retrieved my bag then left knowing I wouldnt return to do business w/ them. My advice: dont waste your time for pocket change and no courtesy.

Im very disappointed with the service I recently received. I came in to drop off clothing and was told it would take an hour to go through. Fine, Ill shop during that time I thought. An hour and 15 minutes go by and I still havent heard anything, so I walk up to their front desk and ask if my bags had been gone through. Im told it will take another 40 minutes. Really? So its going to be two hours not the one hour that they promised me. Im already annoyed, but I was told that when my bags were gone through someone would come get me. Guess what? Never happened. I had to go up and again ask. 2.5 hours of my life gone due to their poor communication. The kicker is they only took 2 of my items. They should have said it would take longer, they knew how many boxes of clothes had to be sorted before they got to mine. I will not be back. Since I messaged them this review directly, and have still not received a response, lets see if theyll respond to me now that its visible to the public.

Upon entering the store, I was courteously greeted and quickly shown the paperwork needed to drop off clothing. That was the only good part of the transaction. I was told to come back in two hours, which made sense... However when I returned, I was told the store wasnt taking "tops, bottoms, or skirts." Well, if they had been up front with this, I wouldnt have had to waste two hours. They could have at least called with a "thanks but no." To top it off, they offered to donate the clothing, but wouldnt give an itemized receipt for tax purposes. That seems fishy to me. So they take your clothes and get your tax write-off for free? A lot of the clothing seemed more like a store, with multiple sizes of the same thing. A far cry from a buffalo exchange or the like. Save time and go to a local consignment, or just go to Goodwill directly.

The staff is pretty friendly. However, they dont have a good eye for fashion or how much items are actually worth when youre selling. I brought in a $200 purse to sell & the cashier told me they couldnt "authenticate" the bag so they couldnt purchase the bag. She obviously doesnt know anything about Christian Lacroix or Ralph Lauren handbags. I have been going there for years to sell & this is the first Ive had this happen. Maybe its the staff they had there working today & were inexperienced in buying items I dont know? You can find great pieces there but they give you next to nothing for your items. Its really not worth selling your items to them at all. The 2stars are based on my selling experiences there overall over the years.

A rockin experience deserves a rockin review - and thats what I had here. The Timonium Uptown Cheapskate has auhmazing product. I was looking for boots - and had to choose from a pair of Steve Maddens, two Uggs in my size that had just come in, and a knee-high pair of Frye boots that were $150 (regularly $450). Ive shopped more resale stores than most people, and I loved this location. The girls pick great product, plus theres a mix of layering basics and other cute dresses that were more expensive (in the 40s) but had a boutique feel. I havent sold here, but I would think they would be very picky with what theyll accept. Check it out :). I highly recommend this place.

they dont buy anything! they always say its because its "worn" or "out of style" but thats a likely story when the items youre bringing in are practically new and hardly worn. let alone the fact that the clothes they are selling are hideous. they are never polite when you ask them to explain why they didnt select certain items as if youre asking them to reevaluate a hideous cheetah print sweatshirt w fur and ears on it...oh wait thats an item they had on the rack when i went in to sell. never going back and Dear Emily, please refrain from commenting on my post that youre a high volume sale resale store because thats your apology to every 1 and 2 star review. Pathetic.

I just recently cleaned out my closets and had about 6 or 7 bags of clothes to sell. I was hoping my experience at this store would be positive and it really was! I was hesitant because I didnt know what to expect, but everyone who works at this store was very kind and helpful :) this one employee Paige helped me so much! she was patient and so kind to go through all of my bags, I left with about 4 full bags still but was paid more than what I was expecting. It was my first time at this store and my experience was great, especially with the help of Paige! ill definitely be back to sell&shop! :)

Uptown is definitely one of my favorite stores to shop! I was a frequent shopper until I moved away. The ladies that work for this store are very friendly and helpful, especially Anna S and Paige P. They often help me find what I need or just started up conversation. There was also either a store manager or district manager I saw very often in store (she had very pretty beach hair that was blondish if I remember correctly) who was very nice and welcomed my corgi pup into the store. Such great staff that work here! I recommend going here!
