We had been looking for an older toyota sequoia just like one we had. We found a 2005 , low miles at Hampstead preowned. It was priced at retail, they told us they dont negotiate price . It was in far better shape on the interior than many we had looked at. It drove great but clearly had some of the common problems that came with that year model. The tires looked dry rotted as well but the salesman told us that because the tread was good the tires passed inspection. We knew even though the car was priced at top dollar we would still have to get new tires. They also guaranteed that the vehicle will pass pa inspection since we live in pa. They agreed to fix the rear window and wipers that werent working . We were told about their 5 day policy ...if not satisfied they will exchange your vehicle. I wanted to make sure we were happy with the vehicle and it was in good shape so we decided to take it on our drive to Pittsburg that weekend .Upon leaving the dealership the vehicle seemed great. It wasnt until I got on 83 headed towards Pennsylvania that the car started to make loud banging noises. It was like the whole car was about to fall apart. I pulled over and called the dealership and they said to get the car back to the dealership and they would look at it. I drove it back at 20 mph because at slow speeds it didnt make that noise. When i got there they took a look at it and said that whoever changed the oil on the vehicle didnt tightened the metal plates back on that are under the car . After that experience i decided to stop by our mechanics on the way home to have him take a look at the vehicle and make sure the car was safe to drive 4 hours to pitt with 6 people in it. He didnt have much time but he briefly looked it over and hooked up his equipment to the car. His first comment was your tires are dry rotted and even though the tread will clearly pass inspection the tires really should be replaced. His equipment showed issues with the battery, brakes, tires and several other things. He also commented that over all the vehicle was extremely nice for the age and with a little work it could be a very nice vehicle. He advised to get a new battery and come back and he will hook up again. On the way to pitt the tire lights came on. I stopped frequently to check the air on the way home and fill them with air. First thing monday i went to sams club and got tires and a battery. The guy there said the one tire had a good size slice in the side wall from the dry rot so it was a good thing we replaced them. He also said that the inside of the rims needed to be resurfaced because they were bubbling and could cause leaks but they could not fix that. After leaving sams and driving about 10 miles the brake lights came on. I called Hampstead preowned and they said bring it in and they will take a look at it. I left the vehicle there and also asked them to take a look at the tires because of what sams said about the bubbling of the rims. They said they didnt do resurfacing but will check each tire and make sure there are no leaks. I picked the vehicle up after they said they fixed the brakes and checked all tires. The next time I needed to drive the vehicle it started making strange rubbing noises so I drove it back home and decided not to drive it until it went for a inspection. Eventuality ( 5 to 6 weeks)Hampstead called me and said the registration came for the vehicle and they would mail it so i could get the car inspected. I explained the noise and they said to take it for inspection and they will fix whatever needs to be done. Inspection showed the rear tire was not bolted on causing the rubbing noise, the pins were coming out of the rotars because they were not put on correctly and only one rear brake was replaced causing the alligment to be off and the control arms were bad. The owner got involved and did make sure the vehicle was done correctly and passed inspection in pa. 1)We purchased an older car and knew it could have issues. 2)They made it right. 3)yes, i might purchase from them again- just not a 12 yr old car.

I started ‘following’ HPO several months prior to needing to purchase a car for my 2 new drivers (twins). What I learned is that they are truly interested in the customer!! You do not feel like you are walking into the typical car dealership. No vulture like feel from the sales team when you walk in, no pressure feeling, and no games!! Anthony, the owner, has created the new age buying experience! The sales team work as a TEAM. They care, listen to your wants, and needs, and try to help and educate you during the process! I stopped in and within 2 hours was a thrilled new owner of a Toyota Camry that will last for years. Their detail and repair crew is awesome too!! And I can’t forget to mention the WARRANTY!!! If you find another warranty out there better than HPO’s -let me know!! After I purchased the first car and before I even picked it up, my older daughter was in an accident and she was safe but her car was totaled. I immediately told her to go to HPO! She decided to do her own thing. She spent hours and hours of searching at many other dealerships, having a dealership ‘up-charge’ the interest on a possible loan, (they can do in MD-the bank charged 7% and the dealership said her loan would be at 9%), and dealing with very pushy sales people. I asked her to ‘just go look’ at HPO. She finally did and is so happy she did! She went in, they were so nice, helpful, and caring!! She found the perfect SUV that she needed! They helped with honest financing and the entire transaction was awesome! So now we purchased 2 cars within 2 weeks. So now we must purchase another car for that other ‘new’ driver (twin), I mentioned above. I guess you know where we are going!! Check out how they help the community too!! Thanks Anthony, Chris, Wendy, Sam, and Adam!! I will see you soon!

Great place to buy a used car. This is a detailed but long reveiw of my experience. I was skeptical and kept my gaurd up through the whole process but am now confident in my purchase. Ive visited alot of used car dealerships before buying a japenese car from here with low mileage. Reasons this dealership stands out among the rest is that all of the hampstead preowned staff is there to help you every step of the way. They gave me a very reliable car at a great price and they offer a 7 day bumper to bumper warranty with every vehicle purchased and 1 month 1000 mile powertrain warranty with longer warranties available for a price. I checked the whole car before buying and they make sure your vehicle is mechanically sound before purchase. Example my car needed front brakes pads and 2 wheel bearings which were both replaced before my final test drive. A couple days after purchase i drove on the freeway and noticed wheels were out of balance. They rebalanced at no charge and i tried to tip my mechanic and he told me no thank you please let us know if you have any other problems with your car we want you to feel confident in your purchase. This is a honest reveiw that this is by no means a shady used car dealership and you can be confident buying a used car here. Ive owned my car about a month and am confident in my purchase. This dealer is smart about what they sell they mostly sell. They dont want you buying a unreliable car with problems. They have a great selection of vehicles i watched the cars they got in and out for over 7 months before my purchase and they mostly buy honda and toyota( most reliable cars along side with nissan). So you can be sure you will have plenty of reliable cars to choose from.
